He was indeed a muppet but the fondest memory I have of a national manager is Ally McLeod the jocko's manager for the World Cup in 78.

The first and only time we ever tried awaggering English arrogance, and oh boy didn't it just turn around and kick us in the nuts!
The game against Holland showed what we might have achieved if we hadn't approached the matches with Peru and Iran expecting to win just by showing up.
It's not for nothing that the unofficial Scottish anthem is "We're shite, and we know we are."

Such hurtful words.
The truth be known then I am one of the less arrogant english people you will find. I do like to have a lend of the Scots and others but only in a light hearted way. It's all a bit of light hearted banter which I mean no offence by and hope none was taken.
