Paul E, its MY turn to apologise!! As the self-styled Sweeney fanatic here, that one DID pass me by...but we CAN agree that the first film was shoddy at best.

Are you still here? Haven't you got anything (or anyone) better to do?
I suppose there's a lot to be said for continuity.....
Glad yer OK, S, anyway. And, PLEASE, stop being a bloody punch-bag for those sad arseholes who somehow think it's 'amusing' to have a pop at you.
Perhaps some of the Mods (and Ace....?) might take note- loyalty is, or ought to be, a virtue..............piss-taking, yeah. No need to be vicious.

'All of them.'
I can only think of Traffic (US/2000, based on CH4's Traffik) being an exception, and let's hope the Edge of Darkness remake gets similar quality treatment.

do you have anymore info?
there doesn't seem to be any reference to it yet, on imdb.com (at least, not under the original title).
Wednesday 29th January 2003: Edge Of Darkness Update:
Director Martin Campbell has been signed up by BBC Films and Catch 23 Entertainment to make a movie based on the TV mini series Edge Of Darkness. The script for the movie is being written by Andrew Bovell. Campbell had this to say about the remake "What makes it so contemporary is the Bush administration and their nuclear and military policies. The original
story concentrated on the policy of the Margaret Thatcher regime, at
the time of the miners' strike, when she broke the back of the union. Part of the story is the discovery of an underground storage facility which is illegally manufacturing plutonium and is about to be privatized by an American company."
That the one you're thinking of Woody?

it certainly is, thanx and great news about martin campbell's involvement, too. this one might just fly...
of the hundred plus mainstream (i.e non adult) DVD's in my collection, only one of is a televison series - the peerless 'i claudius'. i think it's about time i made it two with the addition of eod. i caught some reruns on satellite a while back and it was as riveting as when i first saw it in the early eighties. bob peck is simply magnificent.
