I was going to point out that you've been mercilessly flamed here before, and reacted with considerably more grace than your critics. Nice work for a Yank, heh heh.......
Anyhoo (to use a Homerism), the above is why we need effective global legislation to keep the polluters at home wjere more pressure can be brought to bear upon them to mend their naughty ways.
Poorer environmental laws are an irelevance in other countries when the US has a major share of heavy industry and car-ownership. The third world may catch up eventually, but by then the damage will have become irreversible. So it's up to all major nations to show a lead (not a LEAD, you understand) here.
