Yeah namely my own experience where I form most of my opinions.

You make some great points and I agree that the word snog is "a lovely old fashioned word". I've definately reconsidered (again!) and my usage of said term (snog) will continue unabated and Saratoga has no convert in me, in his campaign to eradicate the word "snog" and regardless of him likening it to the word "snot".
