My last word on this subject:

I started this topic to highlight a serious problem that I had witnessed first hand during my time as an "actress" (old slut) in the industry. I'm glad that most people who joined in the discussion treated the issue seriously, and am delighted with the response from the other ladies working in the business for having the guts to confirm what I had seen as being true.
Sadly the deafening silence from the film producers who use this forum indicates to me that the drug issue among actresses, and some film producers will continue.
Why rock the boat?

Thanks again for contributing to a lively, but very serious debate.
I've now been in sublime, and happy retirement in my lovely old rambling house on the East Coast for 4 years.
Just like to thank all my customers over the years for helping to pay for my wonderful life of leisure.

I am 78 years young and have taken drugs my entire life. And I am still more than capable of sucking a young lady out.

Interesting debate.

AS a sideline, I can't see how girls who do porn (ie getting paid to have sex with blokes) are not also labelled as prostitutes?

Anyone clear that one up for a very baffled mex?

I find that the term 'prostitution' and 'prostitute' are generally used in a demeaning sense and are unhelpful .. a bit too Old Testament for me. Consider this .. a woman working expensive West End hotels charging ?1000 is a 'call girl', but a street walker charging ?30 is a common 'prostitute'. Same service, different context.

A better general term might be 'Sex Worker' but there are a lot of differences between escorts, lapdancers, adult performers etc (admittedly, there will be blurred distinctions because that's life - it's complex and often defies simple definitions.) I'll leave you to think about some of the differences ... meanwhile, others might offer you their view.

I`d assume it`s because girls who do porn are having sex with other porn acters/ actresses on camera and not in private with any member of public who has enough cash.

Bukkake shots where you are with a few other guys...is fucking gay.

In fact, about pulling trains with a woman...you wanna have sex with other guys and mix your sperm with theirs...you're just using a woman as a conduit.

yes, I can see what both of you are saying. However, that doesn't solve my confusion.

Whatever the context, being given money to perform acts that give sexual gratification, is in my view, prostitution.

What you're saying is that your mind is made up and you're clear ... in asking the question you already knew the answer ?

It's simple.
A,B,C.

A=Producer
B,C=Actors

Porn:
A pays B and/or C to have sex
B has sex with C, C has sex with B.
scenario solo scene:
A pays B to have sex with B - the reciprocal relationship.

?A pays B to have sex with C but C isn't paid?

Prostitution:
A,B
A=punter
B=sex worker/prostitute/whore
A pays B to have sex with A.

Let's make it looser - of course you can use the term 'prostitute' anyway you like.
(quote Lewis Carroll from Alice in Wonderland - When I use a word," Humpty Dumpty said in rather a scornful tone, "it means just what I choose it to mean - neither more nor less.?)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prostitution
'Cultural usage varies widely, and the use of the term as a pejorative means that it is used to indicate many acts that are not formally considered prostitution in a cultural context'
So, you are right, people who have sex for money are prostitutes (in the looser definition which does't stand up in court).
You see, things aren't so 'simple'.
Variable F for filming doesn't help too much. Porn=f and Prostitution not F etc.
