Karina, don't you see how pathetic the arguments against full R18 on Sky are? You can watch it on the internet but not on T.V. It's total bollocks. ( Ofcon, not you.)

wow!
never thought i would actually start a debate about the regulations in this country, but hey good to see we all care in one way or another. its just a shame we can't have this same enthusiasm when it comes to doing something more productive in REALLY changing things in the porn world.
Thanks for all the interesting points made and I do appreciate your frustrations but one thing i will say is that if you have ever watched Livexxx we as presenters Do Not mislead the viewers, if ever asked by text or on the phone, we DO NOT say that you are able to see full on HardCore after encryption.
If you have seen it then you might recall us saying "we get dirty at 11.30" or "watch us on the late show as we get much naughtier" and compared to the early show i really do not think we are telling porkies or misleading the viewer with such statements. If you do think that Livexxx has been misleading in anyway whatsoever then please let me know so that this can be rectified and never occur again.
And please remember from the models point of view, this is one of our many platforms to showcase our work and do you really think that we want to give softcore all the time? NO, but if those are the rules then who are we to break them. It would be like going to a shoot them saying "right we're going to shoot the soft version now" and we reply "piss off my pussy's got to be on that big screen being stretched and filled for my public to see" all well and good but if the producer wants soft do you really think we would be on that set for long? We get paid to do a job the best we can within the limitations that are set for us, so instead of constantly badmouthing the girls when they do this or the companys they work for who are also following the set guidlines so we all go home with a wage at the end of the day, try to give a fair review based on this knowledge instead of comparing what we do say to a full on hardcore movie that in my understanding you could only get from a lisenced sex shop, euro dish's or in a hotel room.
you sometimes forget that a majority of the girls who appear on our show and others of the like post on or read this forum just like you guys and its not that nice to come on here and see what in my eye's for the main is just constant unproductive whinging about shows on which some of your supposed fave U.K Pornstars appear on. Also where else are you going to get a regular fix of your supposed fave Babes where you get to see them as real women? I don't know there's just no pleasing you lot is there.
right I'm off, got a leg of lamb roasting in the oven and the roasties need doing!
luv n hugs to all

P.s Neil as soon as i have some new ones to give you I'll send them on over.

I respect you as a person Karina, but I must pick up on some of the points you make:
You Said:

I genuinely believe that this is misleading and that there is deffinately implication in the way that it is sold to the consumer. I am sure that there are others that feel the same? It would be interesting to say the least to hear what any of the broadcasters have to say about this and how they feel that their advertising is not misleading. If this wasn't "porn" it would be on Watchdog!!!

What rules? The Ofcon's code? It's not law. It has never been laid before Parliament and is not on the Statute books, therefore it is merely a content guide and you don't have to follow a guide. European Case Law, which is law in the UK, means R18 is allowable.

No-one is badmouthing the girls - we are bad mouthing the Companies as we the consumer believe that we are being ripped off and sold a product that isn't what we are told it is and it doesn't have to be this way. We are just fobbed off with ofcon Code, it's the law etc. and that is not actually the case at all.

It's not unproductive whinging, it's spreading the word to the masses - stop paying for this shite and something might just happen. I would love to hear what the CEO or whoever from LiveXXX or any of the other broadcasters has to say about all this. Perhaps you could ask the LiveXXX one and then get him to post his response on this thread?

May I endorse everything that Jacques posted. ( no, we're not related). Without you girls there would be nothing for us to appreciate. We just want to appreciate you fully and in "glorious technicolor".

Not allowing hardcore porn on TV is a law not a guide

Ofcon have maintained the ban on R18 material on subscription satellite without providing any reason beyond a one line justification about the inadequacy of PIN controls - that is a FACT Neil and I don't know about you but to me that says that R18 strength material IS allowed.
And the code published by them is NOT law you can check that with ofcon or HMSO or your Local MP or whoever, it has not been before the House of Commons or the House of Lords and is not on the Statute Books and therefore cannot be Law.

R18 is for videos and dvd's only and are only legally sold by licensed sex shops.
R18 on TV is very definately against the law, if it wasn't channels couldn't be legally fined. Why would TV companies pay fines if it was a "guide" and not a law

For the last time Neil, as you clearly are blind and do not understand what is and what is not law, this is a direct statement from ofcon:
"Ofcom did not decide that R18 and R18 equivalent material was unsuitable for broadcast per se - but that we could not be satisfied that children would be sufficiently protected under current security systems. Ofcom has stated that it is willing to look at this issue again if technical or other developments mean that under eighteens can be sufficiently protected in the future. We cannot anticipate what changes might occur, and we have not, and do not, propose to suggest what security might provide sufficient protection. However we are willing to talk to broadcasters about security issues both for the present, and for the future."
With regard to fines:
"Playboy accepted that the broadcast was of a standard that is prohibited under the code"
Code Neil, code. Not law. Why did they pay? For reasons already stated in other posts on this thread.
Ofcon does not recommend to the Government that other European broadcasters showing "R18" material to UK subscribers should have a proscription order imposed on them. That is another FACT. Yet it still seeks prohibit UK broadcasters from doing the same. Why? Because of the increased likelihood of Ofcon's views being legally challenged by European broadcasters who have the freedom to broadcast R18 material to viewers in this country.

Show me. I have put my case forward with 'quantifiable evidence', now you do the same

I cannot believe we now have members of the porn community sticking up for censorship. Have you all lost your nerve? Are you a friend of the MD of Birmingham City by any chance, he is the leading rip-off merchant who promises lots and gives little. What people are pissed off about is the lack of explicit stuff on the live channels which was shown only 12 months ago by the very same models who now run scared of censorship. Hell lets all go back to Confessions and turn in Norman Kembers.
