I watch TAC often and save it using Sky+ - It's following a Pattern. Thurs, Fri and Sun night just after midnight, the scheduled program has been replaced with a lesbian R18 program. Thursday it was Ally McSqueal, Fri was Wet, Welsh and Wild, Saturday it didn't happen (A pre scheduled theme night couldn't be changed as easily?) then last night (Sun) it was Double ooh Heaven... Can't wait for tonight at 00:10... ! All of them were lesbian shows.. no risk of the offensive male member yet..! - seems to be quite well thought out.

Hi all,
@ trapanicus I have been pondering that thought aswell regarding programme scheduling. TAC probably have had their tv schedules out for weeks/month in advance so maybe next month things may become far more interesting! Well lets hope so!

Hi all again,
One final point I would like to add is that, if all the UK adult sat/cable providers where to switch to stronger material surely Ofcom would have to look carefully at current legislation. Or will they wait until public consultations?
Regards
Mark

Didn't see it, but it's discussed here on Digital Spy:
Personally I think it was probably a mistake - no DOG probably means they've transmitted the tape before it was cut, logo'd and prepared for transmission.
OR
They are testing the water and can use the "wrong tape transmitted" excuse to OFCOM and get less of a slap.

I agree it probably was a mistake.

Cosine, I haven?t spoken to anyone off the record on this issue, but Ofcom must be aware of what?s going on. Xplicit were taken to task by Ofcom a month or so back for showing too much on free-to-air and they would have carefully reviewed the broadcasters tapes at that time.
My statement about viewers being delighted was on the basis of mail I had received at Ofwatch. I don?t know what Ofcom have been doing in detail, but I do know from an off the record source that Ofcom have been having discussions with the BBFC over R18 standards. I would be surprised if Ofcom were actively seeking public input now as they have planned a proper consultation over broadcasting standards in July.
You may be right in saying that they are letting the waters be tested, but Xplicit have been broadcasting the stronger content since at least last November. As time passes the danger of backlash must diminish, as the new content becomes the norm. In correspondence that I have had with Ofcom they say the code has not changed, which is true, but the interpretation of the code has changed which amounts to the same thing in my view.
It is possible that one of the broadcasters might overstep the mark in the next few months by showing full strength R18 content, but I doubt if anyone would go quite that far just yet. The problem for everyone is that the existing guidelines are nonsense. Broadcasters are allowed to show more than 18 but not allowed to show R18. The reason it worked in the past was that the ITC laid down what could and what could not be shown to the broadcasters on the quiet. Ofcom do not appear to be willing to do that so the broadcasters are moving from 18 plus a small margin to R18 minus a small margin. The whole situation is rather unstable.

Mark, I think it would depend very much on what stronger material was broadcast. IMHO Ofcom do not want to rock the boat at the moment as they want to get their official public consultation out of the way first, at which point I suspect they will propose that R18 content should be allowed in the future. They are likely to put up with some pushing of the boundaries provided the existing code can be interpreted as allowing it. If anyone clearly breaks the rules then I would imagine Ofcom would be forced to do something even if they want to change that rule later. They won?t be able to sit by and have a broadcaster blatantly flout the programme code.

I think it is only time before a channel starts showing full on boy girl. For some weird reason, even before Xplicit changed their content, it seemed ok to show cunnilingus but not blowjobs. Why?
I applaud TAC for moving goalposts. On Saturday a film on Spice also showed a long, uncut sequence of a man performing oral sex on a woman yet she was heavily censored when returning the favour....
What really narks me is you can walk into any branch of Virgin records and buy a Lovers Guide tape, plain 18 cert which will show oral, penetration, toys and ejaculations. And most of the actors in that tape are well known hardcore stars to boot.
The law is indeed and ass, pity it isn't Kelle Marie's or Elen Cole's!!!
