I was with my Car insurance company for 4 years & my Contents insuranse for 9 years, after doing the stupid thing of saying we do film production my car insurance company said because of the job we do they didn't want our business & the same with our contents insurance...it took 5 days & countless phone calls before getting other insurances at an higher premium because the adult industry is frowned upon.

These people are out & out crooks in the way they treat people especially us in the adult industry, Terry himself has suffered the same fate as me so think strongly before endorsing this.

If others do the honest thing & tell them of their professions the data will be sent to their other insurance companies resulting in them being penalized as i & others have.

This is not ranting its fact so think before you jump in on everyones behalf as they might not be so happy to be part of AITA afterwards.

Ok Kim, so it was not business insurance that you could not get, but home/ car insurance problems. It is shocking that your insurance company reacted in such a way, I would have thought that they would have many self employed customers.

Well come along on the 31st and you can speak with the person we have coming along to discuss business insurance for the adult industry, they may be able to offer a better option for you or advice.

I used the word rant as you did not answer the question that was asked but went off in a totally different direction. Sometimes harsh words have to be used to stop messages going off topic and I am sure seeing what AITA are trying to do for the UK adult industry with working with UKAP to bring in the health protocols, talking with insurance companies to get better deals for the industry and working to improve the overall view of the UK adult industry to the Government, press and public is more important, and the level of support from within the UK industry is terrible, I want to know why this is. ?50 a year, is that to much to for industry professionals to invest in the industry that they earn money from?

The meeting on the 31st has been set up for all performers and producers to have a voice, I know some people cannot make it and have sent over their thoughts on the draft protocols, but I am asking for as many people as possible to turn up and have a voice. If people cannot be bothered to make an effort then nothing will change and the UK industry will not move forward and improve.

Yes Kim is right Jason but I'm with Lowerloft and AITA on this . After all, we are all in the same business and fighting to just do our business legitimately. There is nothing criminal in what we do.

Fighting among ourselves is pointless when the real fight is out there.

A lot of the problems we face in this business can largely be solved by pulling together by way of support and action!

Together we have a better chance to influence those that matter, including being recognised as viable and insurable business.

The fact we film people engaged in sex acts should be recognised as no diferent to what anyone else shoots. I think the word for that is prejudice and that is something we can use to pressure the opposition. After all, next to the likes of Jimmy Saville we are saints.

Its high time now that we start running our business as a proper legitimate one. If we pay our taxes then we should be recognised with the same respect as anyone else who pays theirs.
