I think people should stop panicking.
A:It could be a false positive and we should wait until the second test is confirmed. B:Whoever is affected would be contacted by the clinic so we do not need to know who it is right now. They are going through enough at the moment without people demanding a 'witch hunt' as Millyz82.
The best we can do as many have said already is if the result proves positive to not shoot for 3 months and everyone get tested.
Whoever is involved I wish them all the best and they have my support.
AITA have spoken to the contact and I think they are putting a statement out very shortly.

Was with my Doctor on my test and he said in 10 years of him doing this he has never come across a positive that has been overhauled by a negative.

Yes i am extremely panicky - i went to pick up my cert today which all came back clear but knowing it can take upto 3 months after contact to pick up and having no idea if i worked with this person or someone else they have worked with has got me totally on edge,

But i think we should all respect his/her privacy,
even though he/she doesn't want to be named they have done the right thing by asking Paul to inform us of the situation so we can take precautions.
I think we should offer thanks, good wishes and support.

And yes i know this could turn out to be a false alarm but im not willing to take the chance, im going on shutdown from all fluid swop work nomatter what the rest of the industry do.

That's hardly true. If everybody does the responsible thing and stop performing/shooting and gets themselves tested, nobody should be at any greater risk of catching it whether they know who it is or not. How long people continue ignoring the the advice not to or perform shoot and taking unnecessary risks are far more dangerous.

I'm not saying the person shouldn't be named but naming them is not a silver bullet. There could be several degrees of separation heading outside of the industry where this possible infection could have spread back into it, which is why there is the recommendation that everybody gets tested.

I have been out of the film industry for a couple of years but some may remember me from my days at a certain CFNM/CFNF and hard boy/boy company in that there London.

Unfortunately HIV is a hazard in any industry where performers come into sexual contact and it takes a report of an outbreak like this to remind us of the risks that are taken when there is a recession on. It is quite easy to say 'Don't Panic' but very hard not to. I think the fact that a number of the well-known companies have halted production is a good thing, however, there are performers that are desperate for work and the news of a production being halted does not make it easier for them financially. This is when we all need to go back to the basics of checking certs properly - not only by looking at the piece of paper and the photo ID, but to phone the clinic to check the authenticity of the cert.

It is also the time for the smaller companies/producers to be strong. There will be a surge of performers looking for 'stop-gap work' and it is up to these producers to remain vigilant and carry out the same checks that the performers would expect from the 'big guns'.

I signed back up on here when I heard about the scare because it is important that we should not start a witch-hunt, rather we should remind ourselves of the little risks that we might sometimes take here and there when the pressure of money looms over our head. Please be careful. Please be vigilant. Please be patient.

That may be but one doctor's experience, even of 10 years, isn't necessarily conclusive proof that it doesn't happen.

Tiana Lynn is quite well known for having tested positive on her preliminary test but the subsequent tests to confirm came back negative. If memory serves me correctly, Kayla Marie dodged a similar bullet in the 2004 US/Brazil outbreak.
