Hello

Just thought we'd nip the AdultWork.com bad-mouthing in the bud here.

1) We have not given any information to anyone from the UK HM Revenue and Customs EVER.

2) We always give information to police and law enforcement when their inquiry and contact methods are verified as bonafide.

This is in accordance with our published policy on such matters to which all members consent upon registration.

Similarly, the reporting and taxation obligations/requirements of our members are their own concern. Anyone who is unsure of the obligations should seek professional advice.

On this specific case it is entirely conceivable that someone else has accessed the members account, either on the same PC or via some other method and reported them.

AdultWork.com is a business like any other and in the main it's income is generated by it's members. Assertions that we can't be bothered or don't care are totally untrue. If members took the time to read what was written and try to help themselves using the tools provided (such as the Help Centre), their experience would be greatly improved.

Any issues or problems, just ask.

Not sure about the emails part but is it possible they were alerted by bank activity, cheques issued by AW could be being followed up by HMRC, IBAN bank transfers could be flagged by your bank too. Anyone earning a reasonable amount on AW could expect the same in that case.

Well blow me down,a reply from adultwork !!!
This has got to be a record,I have never seen a reply from anybody from adultwork on any site ever.

So what your saying is sombody hacked in and gave the powers that be copies of kims e mails?
As it wasnt the police that came to see her but the tax people ,you by your own words would not have given them copies of the e mails etc.

HMRC are going after all form of self employed people now.

It happens when the governments are short of Cash.

It was accountants last year, then plumbers/ joiners

Now it is our turn.

Just be sure that you are keepign property records and you will be fine.

As long as you are not breaking any actual laws.

To the OP:

Why were they asking about your permission to use your home for business?

That is none of their business. You should have told them to F off in that one.

Also if they come back get a solicitor and then claim it off tax.

The amount of girls we do profiles for on AW & the people we send there should warrant a simple email telling us we were under investigation...if you knew, lucky we do everything to the book but as you guys know at AW a lot of girls can't always make a living out of their profiles so they do this on the side for a little pocket money.

As most of the Essex profiles come back to us where John as either filmed the girls or i have done video / photo work with them the authorities thought we were running a big organisation (we wished lol!) where in fact it was simple content share.

The Authorities have been & gone away red faced & very embarrassed so the matter as now ended...

The permission to use our home for business was asked because we live in a council house.

If you are renting & in some cases even buying (check your mortgage agreement) you need to obtain permission to produce adult movies as some authorities & banks say its immoral, our council had a meeting about us last year when we asked for permission & it was granted under condition we did not have paid swingers parties or escort from the premises.

Different area's have different councils so it can vary, when you think the government have tried everything under the sun to disrupt the adult industry this is only another desperate endevour.

I'm inclined to believe that AdultWork had nothing to do with passing on information. Customs have more power than the regular police and they may well have just the access they need to bypass any passwords under their new anti terrorist legislation.

It would be even easier for them to get into your regular accounts.

Is it legal? It doesnt have to be if you dont know about it but one things for sure, they were confident enough on the information to act on it

I think all this social networking going on has allowed more information to get into thbe hands of the authorities anyway. It just feels like the current obsession is trafic and data and studying how people use the internet

Its probably more easier for them than you realise.
