Those two titles were available on VHS a couple of years ago. A UK firm used to advertise them on Torrid TV/Adult X/Rendezvous along with various Dr Anna St John h/c titles. They had a phone number for orders.

As for DVD as a format. I agree with JJ and Alec. Lack of picture search is a drawback. It can be incorporated into the design by the manufacturers easily but many cant be bothered. My JVC HDS1 is an SVHS deck with a built in hard disc capable of recording 20 plus hours of digital quality which can be played at many speeds to scan through it with none of the on screen noise lines associated with video tapes.

BTW digital quality is a stupid term as analogue is far superior to digital in all media eg photography, music, video and certainly TV broadcasting. An analogue TV signal whether satellite or terrestrial doesnt suffer from that awfull "blocking" effect(where the picture has the appearance of looking throgh frosted glass) in fast motion scenes or scenes with lots of bright detail. These so called digital artifacts plague certain DVDs also.

I will eventually buy a dvd RECORDER but only when the format war is lost and won. And it will have to have multiple speed play ie fast forward viewing/picture search.

If I was as wealthy as JJ I would also buy a brand new dvd player to use as a doorstop like he did. I dont buy any kit until I know I can put it to good use. Must be the north/south divide.

YOU might be rich enough not to worry, but the introduction of a new O/S in any technology usually penalises the poorer strata of society: DigiTV, e.g- even Blur had to reassure pensioners that they wouldn't be lumbered with yet another crippling debt, just to watch Corrie).
I have a considerable amount of wodge invested in VHS technology (tapes/VCRs): will the DVD-maniacs compensate me? I think not. So the least all concerned can do is supply the demand that exists, not manipulate it for their own mercenary ends.
I'm not against DVD as such (see above): I just don't see why the door should be slammed shut in VHS-users' faces on a commercial whim.

No JJ the trailers and ads were hardcore. So if the vids were soft then its misleading. Not that the porn industry is averse to mugging us poor punters with lies of course.

For your information, it's not serving as a doorstop, but as a temporary coffee-table in the Master Bedroom. It's a good job: I was once an Occasional Table for the Longfords: lots of travel too, as I was always getting moved around the ground floor and into the East Wing.
