And that is exactly the reason this wont work as anything can be forged and certs are just bits of paper that come out of a printer, and there is no way can you check if certs are bonafide or not as no clinic dare share a persons details because of the data protection act.

Kinda agree, until the clinics have the ability to securely upload the results to an independent secure server then it wont work. With the suggestions above, who does the verification?

I believe you can get past the data protection act stuff by getting said model to sign something saying that they agree to it, when they get there test done.

Any database that UKAP could ever set up would have no substance, UKAP should get their heads together and think how they are going to promote UK porn fucking around with certs will o9nly make money for the clinics

Anyone ever thought....

Most shoots are 99% done in the day during working hours...

How about you call the clinic and get the person to put it on speaker phone and ask for the results???

keni you know i love you but im against this on line cert thing as im completely useless with computers and i wouldn't no were to start wiv putting my cert on line , and im pretty sure nowhwere near me would do this service as i get my certs done at conifer house in hull, every 3 wks and they cost 35 ,
it still wouldn't put my mind at rest as i won't name names but ive seen footage of some well known girls doing uncerted without protection ( i no these shoots were uncerted because ive turned them down for this reason) , these girls are then working with us with there worthless certs not only risking there own health and lifes but ours to, if where tightening up on cert's then surely that needs banning 1st , sorry girls but its just not right and something needs doing about it .

Tanya and to all those who are new to this topic:

The certs will be uploaded and managed by the clinics participating across the UK. They are well aware of the data protection act and will be providing the service for the adult industry to interface with.

All that UKAP has to do with it as well as major player production companies is to facilitate that meeting to make it happen.

As Keni said, its not as much for the benefit of producers, UKAP or any specific individual. If any of you really care about your health and your colleagues it is within your interest to make it happen by supporting it. If you dont, it must be assumed you are perfectly happy with the system as it stands at the moment, which I know for a fact a lot of people ar enot which is why work is going into this to make it happen but the clinics want to know what kind of numbers to expect and where they are across the UK.

For more information and to quell the rumours that are going around like wildfire you can read this if link if you want to:

All this will ever achieve is a two tier system in UK porn as you would have some performers who will sign up for it and a lot who will not, this would end up with certified unprotected porn and uncertified unprotected porn and guess which one the punters will go for, the present system is about as safe as it gets and there has never been any mass outbreak of stds in the UK industry or any serious stds that i know of, therefore if it aint broke dont fix it, common sense is all that is needed when people are performing together you check each others certs if the other person just takes a quick glance at your certs and says yes that is fine then you should be weary as it probably means they dont want you scrutinise their paperwork, pay particular attention to the name and dates on certs as this is where they will be falsified, word and mouth is all that is needed it has aways worked.

I think there are plenty who will disagree with you about the outbreaks Graham.

There has been two "lock downs" over the past two years with regards to std outbreaks. Those that know about it know. Those who dont are the ones who are thinking everything is rosy and fine the way it is until they get it personally.

Sorry for sounding condescending Graham but the situation is getting ridiculous now and I just find it amazing how people just sit back and trivialise things like this.

The industry is expanding (contrary to those moaning baout the credit crunch) and there seems to be a lot more sexual activity going on like AIDs doesnt exist and is just reserved for homosexuals and those in third world countries.

Lets not forget drugs and recklessness walk hand in hand with our industry and not everybody has full disclosure what others are doing.

I have held back what I know because it would be easy to accuse me of using it to further my cause.

Like for instance the syphillis outbreaks in europe, gonorreah outbreaks, the HIV outbreak in Russia and the three people who got HIV (not from the shoot which was condom but their off camera activities). Its just a matter of time before those who work abroad may indeed bring it back to the UK. lets not forget the most popular one here in Britain is chlamydia. Several years ago this was rarely heard of. it might have been the occasional NSU and warts back then.

Lets not forget that I shoot couples. This is within the interest of the professional producing and performing community and if they choose not to support it then I will continue just shooting couples because most times I shoot with professionals I witness some discrepancy with regards to tests now and its just getting a bit too lax for my liking.

I want to see results before agreeing to work with people than have the stress of having to compromise on the day and I would feel better knowing that it has been endorsed by the clinic rather than a scan sent by email.

Thats my only reason for spurring this on.

It seems the ones who dont want change and want it to remain as it is are the ones who are part timers or just amateur or plain dont care! In other words those who can just run for cover and hide behind anonymity if the big one hits.

Do we really have to wait for the day that happens?

You are right though, it will lead to a two tiered system with those who want this in place refusing to work with those with NHS certificates that can be faked as that seems to be the main problem at the moment and while I understand its not out of sheer malice, it just reflects the lazy attitudes going on with regards those who perpetrate it and their lack of respect for those who are vigilant and play by the rules.

The more high end companies are ready to sign off on in favour of this so if performers aspire to work for those companies then they will have to step in line as they did with the 30 day testing. No doubt amateurs will not want any part of this which is there choice

There are legal reasons for this now as well as compassionate reasons. I know people in Europe and USA who are shocked that this is being met with resistance and why it hasnt been in place yet. We are two years behind the rest of the world

...But thats us Brits all over isnt it?

Interesting post from another forum, particularly the bit about work & access to the proposed database.

Paranoia, or a legitimate concern?

"The death knell is sounding for Fred In The Shed Productions, the backbone of the UK porn industry. Yep it's not Killergram, Bluebird or any UKAP producer. It's the little guy. The one who finds new talent. The one who sees the trend and reacts faster then the big guys. They are the industry.

The current proposals from UKAP will kill off Fred In The Shed. If you want to work - you have to be tested at a UKAP approved clinic. If you want to produce - you must be a UKAP member to access the 'Cartel Database'.

Open minds from a general demographic will do more than the blinkered vision of a tin-pot UKAP producer."
