The sad, simple truth is that porn is in decline. I predicted this 4 years ago and was scoffed at.People just don't what to open their eyes and see what is happening. eg BB says they are opening a massive studio in LA. In the States porn is already in it's death throes and that's even BEFORE the recession kicks in!

The simple fact is, that the old porn consumer has not been replaced by a new generation of consumers. They are too busy having fun for real. They don't want to sit there and endure seeing a blonde with false tits being shagged by a stud in shades and spandex.

My prediction is, unless you are satisfying a particular group of consumers, you are doomed and in the next few years many more producers will bite the dust.

i was being interviewed by a guy today who is doing a degree in business and wants to write a piece on porn and technology.
i cant remember the exact question he asked me but basicly i said as there is now this new trend in social networking and interaction to actually sit and watch a film is quite "yesterday". people would rather be out meeting the porn stars for real (parties, escortsing, amatuer film and photography) or at least watching them live (web cam, chat lines and these late night interactive shows).

it boils down as far as they are too busy chatting normal girls up on myspace to watch porn aswell.

its far easier for guys to go out and make there own porn now if they dont like what is available for them from the professionals. it may not be as fancy as Private or Harmony but they had fun making it and that memory will last more than that of any DVD they bought.

i guess that takes me back to the original post. cant blame the guy for trying but being straight would of gotten alot more respect from me.

If you was right Porn Baron I would say so quite happily but i have evidence to prove the contrary.

The door swings both ways on this. Some of those who think they are revolutionising the wheel (and some are making very good product too) are just not succeeding at it.

Probably you are right but lets face it, a lot of the producers are treading old ground anyway, so what difference does it make?

If the old has beens (I presume you mean aging die hards like me) stopped shooting porn, someone would come in and fill the void and do the same thing anyway.

Have to agree with you there Terry, most of the producers we have known over the years do it like us for the love of making naughty films. If you do earn something its a bonus but if you don't its great fun anyway. Yes we have seen many big wads come & go over the years & only the true ones last.

Yes Jim, I understand what Sandie is saying but I have to honestly say I'm not in the same boat as just everybody.

If it was all just about fun and not making a living, I wouldnt be able to eat and to be honest, fun for who? I'm producing, not partaking...well not all the time anyway. Only on special occasions. LOL
