Thanks for the excellent responses to date - appreciated.

Be-Seen-Here said: "From previous posts I gather you've been subjected to some kind of campaign against you."

Nope, no more so than anyone else. A certain same troll jumps out for a 'sneak attack' occasionally, on a select few of us who also happen to post on a more general modelling forum, but that's just a case of 'shit happens'. Certainly no reason for this post, which relates to a closed forum for those working in the porn industry, not the odd malicious outsider.

The main reason for considering this kind of forum is in my first post:

// The idea is to name those that perform while knowing they have STI's, who escort without protection, who fake certs and who spread rumours about other performers. //

Totally agree that it could be hell to moderate and could have far reaching consequences.

It's worth the discussion though, simply because we do not have a means of discussing these kind of thorny issues in a closed arena, and from every model I know and talk to currently worrying about STI's / who is getting up to god know's what / who is currently spreading rumours about them etc there's an audience for this.

Any more thoughts?

Having slept on this, my opinions are that this could just be too much to administrate/moderate, although like I say, access would be by application only, and wouldn't be granted to every Tom, Dick and Harry who's made one film and now sees themselves as an adult performer or producer...

Difficult one. The 'having balls' bit doesn't worry me; the 'potential damage to careers' fear does however.

Could turn into an online Fight Club, rather than anything else.

I haven't got the rugged Charles Bronson looks to be a vigilante BSH ;)

... I am leaning towards your point of view though, hence me saying it could all just turn into an online Fight Club - not a great idea.

It's good to know peoples thoughts and opinions on these kind of issues though, as this topic has come up time and time again.

To reiterate my own points from earlier in this thread, which relate to my main issues with STI's and related rumours (the main reason for having this possible new restricted forum):

"What I would say is how saddened I am that we even need to be having this discussion - our industry should be about fun and fantasy-fulfilment. Not any of this silly bollocks.

We should be intelligent enough to realise the risks, and know when to practice safe sex - jesus, we make porn for fucks sake! We've hardly got our heads buried in the 'sexual knowldge' sand :("

Anyone want to buy a pristine, shiny new, non-used domain?

;)

Yeah I saw what 'UKAP' did when Michelle B politely asked for advice on here.
See this about this.

She didn't name & shame, just asked for advice from the industry.....

Very brave....

Looks to me like yet another good original post has been lost in translation, turned into petty squabbles which turned into a focus on that and not the point that was originally attempted to be made.

When someone claims that STI's are all part of the job I give up.

I appreciate your attempt Mr Mark but some of the responses are typical industry and what anyone wanting to encourage change or improve it is up against.
