Bad experience at Erotica: an open letter
Re: Bad experience at Erotica: an open letter
Sorry to hear what's happened. I hope things have calmed down after that incident. I do agree with some people here that in a way the Erotica festival has worn down for some reason.
I mean a few years ago.. it was really good.
There were allsorts of people there.
I remember when Teresa May was there..
Tara King and yeah! Linsey Dawn McKenzie.
But after going there on Sunday..
I found that the event was really beginning to lose its touch.
If in 2007, the festival goes that bad..
I think the Erotica festival will dissolve into oblivion.

Lindsay Dawn was there this year bud, behind the speed boad with her sister and a few other girls.
It is said that both love and truth walk hand in hand. But if the need is great enough, can we learn to love a lie?
Re: Bad experience at Erotica: an open letter
Sadly this tale surprises me not one jot. Savvas and his bunch of knuckle-dragging associates have exhibited this sort of gangster behaviour on a number of occasions in the past.
No self-respecting Exhibitor should put up with him and his pointless demands, on-the-spot rule changes and 'at a whim' evictions any longer.
The sooner 'Erotica' dies a death and is replaced by something organised by, and for the benefit of, 'scene' aficionados and those who appreciate erotica ( instead of being just a cash-grab for the benefit of the organiser) the better, frankly.

Oh, he's been here ages Bob - There are posts from Mak on the old forum, though they be (thankfully) rare.

Re: Bad experience at Erotica: an open letter
Sorry to jump in - a friend sent the link and I wanted to say a few words as it all seemed like a wonderful dream at the time...
Being presented the Joe Adelman award by Terry - one of his long standing friends- was an almost perfect moment and I kept thinking I must have heard it wrong!
The real irony though is that without Joe's advice and friendship, I may not even be in the industry now as he helped me to make so many of the right choices, as he did with many.
My speech really didn't do him justice, I had only gone along to catch up with everyone and was a bit overwhelmed to be honest! But I think we all appreciate what he did for us, and whilst words fail me, all I can say is thank you again, to Joe, to Terry, to everyone who has been a source of inspiration and a friend
Sorry to hear about what happened at Erotica. I hope everyone manages to resolve their differences.

Congruations, Kaz! !drink! I think Joe would have been proud.
Maybe an example can be taken from the Erotica LA show in the US. Isn't there a magazine, publishing company that could set up an event that would help the fans of the British stars enjoy 3 or 4 days meeting them, seeing what the industry has to offer, get DVD's, signed pictures etc. Sorry if this has been thought of in the past, just seems everyone could win if this was done right.
