I think the misunderstanding was caused by the name of the site / forum.

It gives the impression it's only for adult producers.

Models would only know about it if they are told by producers or if they have seen this now lol.

'New' models wouldn't know were to look.

The next time I am asked how to get into porn etc I'll point towards joining this forum as well as using these boards.

Thanks for replying Terry

Hi Terry,

Thanks for that.
I know I'm not that experienced yet but I'd like to be able to make a constructive input as I gain experience over time.

This seems a good step. I'm also involved with AITA which is starting at last to turn its attention towards the needs of the industry, particularly issues like piracy and public perception. I'd encourage producers to come along to the AITA open meeting and Xmas drinks at 4.30pm, on 13th December in London.

In the past, AITA's been focused on issues relating to sex shop licensing etc. which are of little relevance to the production side. I and others have been pushing to change this, and the likely result is that AITA will divide into two groups: one concerned with porn production and distribution, the other concerned with retail issues. Come along and have your say...

Sorry Gary...but if you just do solo girl pictures I don't know how the producers forum can benefit you...Its not all down to me anyway. If you can justify why you should be included then yes but if you are just doing pictures as a hobbyist it doesnt really make sense to join as the networking we are doing is mainly business oriented and other stuff related to producing.

Are you prepared to put money into promoting your business, tv stations and deal with issues such as sexual health? And other issues and things that should not be dealt with on here...

However, theres no reason you shouldnt come out on our social occasions.

What we are trying to avoid is everyone getting together and having a good time dreaming of better days and nothing getting done. If you have something to contribute then you are most definitely eligible for entry.

good luck with your new venture, terry. although, one has a slight sense of d?j?...

as it turned out, we didn't receive enough positive feedback to take the industry forum concept any further but we could have pushed the idea more than we did. perhaps we were still hesitant about cordoning off part of bgafd from the general public. it was never something we entirely closed the door on, though...

for anyone who hasn't the time, or the will, to wade through the entire thread, my reply post contains summaries of most of the objections raised to the proposed changes:

Woodgnome..

Reading your post from July last year has proved quite a few people wrong..

I noticed that a few who objected to the "Promotions Forum" are now seen to be prolific posters there, themselves... LOL. In fact that forum has been used nowhere nearly as badly as some detractors thought it would turn out to be :)

I also saw that Sandie and I made points for the "Biz Only" forum back then, but as you say now.. Not a lot happened. To be honest Terry's idea came about because of the meeting at the Hilton last week. We all just turned up as and when, and the chatting started. A few who are regualr posters here had not met before though they'd replied to each others posts, so we came a way with a new feeling of camaraderie.

BGAFD may not have been the time and place last year unfortunately... And as detractors feared many in the biz might stop posting when the "Promotions Forum" was started... It hasn't happened.. It's being used to promote new models, updates to sites and people looking for work as either producers or models and long will this continue :)

No one will vanish from here now... We love you guys too much.. It's just now is the time where somewhere private is needed :)

Thanks Woodgnome...Damn, that one must've slipped right past me...To be honest, this was really Mike Newcombes idea to unify us some couple of years ago, it didnt re-surface until we a met at Erotica and tossed a few ideas around and found out what we felt about specific issue and decided to keep in touch. The thing is, sending out emails to everybody and getting replies was going to get real chaotic, real fast so I suggested a forum to centralise our opinions and that others can view what we are all talking about. Jay Kay of Real Punting fame is the one to thank for financing it.

FGiven some of the responses on the thread about your industry forum suggestion makes me feel all the more we have done the right thing. Again producers are coming under attack for speaking amongst themselves at the exclusion of outsiders...Well, I'll say this, models have their numerous forums where they can chat amongst themselves amongst other people having their own groups where they can retreat and share opinions and act if necessarily.

I am unrepentant about excluding outsiders as all most of them have to offer is derisory comments and how crap we are, elitist, snobbery etc etc. Here on our own forum we are uncompromising and can quietly get on and do things amongst ourselves and not get side tracked by hecklers....Lets face it, certain industry notables don't bother come on the BGAFD anymore because of the verbal attacks they get...Ok, sometimes it is justifed but we can do more as a group there and still keep an ear tothe ground where we can hear the voice of the discerning customer...(damn, who elected me as spokesman?)

To all the producers who havent signed up yet, this forum isnt about me. I don't own it. Its yours. Sign up and air your views...we can always hear about moans and groans from the BGAFD but here we can try and remedy the problem out of view of everyone.

Last night I was antagonised by Brerbear about the forum. Kill the messenger why dontcha?!

Thanks though Woodgnome, had I been paying attention (i must have been away on that one) I would've suggested everyone to rally up support for your suggestion. My apologies...I did promise everyone at Erotica I would do something to keep the good ideas alive and I like to think I came through...Like Ive said our forum is not a substitute for the good work you have done. Its not for fans. its for business and business related issues that affect producers.

Fans with greivances can bring it tour doorstep in the general discussion area. Models can come directly to the producers. If bonafide non producing amateurs have a grievance with this, then set up your own website that is password protected. I won't be offended in the slightest.

There endeth the essay for the day
