With regards to what Sahara says about being ok to work after seven days; the G U clinic in my city say not to have any sexual contact for at least 2 weeks after having contracted Gonnorhae. Maybe this time scale is more recommendable?

I've heard rumours of some studs self treating. This is so stupid it beggars belief, there are many different strains of the same diseases, like you can have an eastern European strain of Gonnoreah which wont be eradicated with penecillin, but will to another antibiotic. This is why people study to become microbiologists so they can, after having taken a swab from you to estalish exactly what strain of what disease you are carrying and then prescibe accordingly.
These arrogant tossers who self treat (if its true) don't realise that if they only partially kill the bacteria that is causing their symptom, the bacteria can become much more virulent.
There was a time years ago when penecillin would kill virtually every bacteria based STD, this is not the case now. To self treat you'd have to have your own laboratory, a degree in microbiology and a whole chest full of different antibiotics.
Unfortunately we work in a business that contains a small group of irresponsible arseholes who bend the rules and in effect risk the health of all the other poor sods who are very careful to keep to the rules.
One of these studs could in a busy month infect 20 or so girls, but naturally the girls would blame one another and never think it might have been the stud.
However I expect if you were stupid and dishonest enough to self treat, you'd probably be forging your cert as well!

I think clinics should be more accessible and easier to use for adult industry workers.

Last week I was turned away from Stratford hospital despite the fact it had just opened for the day as they were already over booked...I high tailed it down to White Chapel who after a series of agonising tests were unable to give me a certificate despite giving me the all clear and I offered to pay for it to.

Apparently this is because they run an anonymous clinic and everyone has a code number. I stressed that I felt it was important that they considered this service but even with the offer of money they wouldn't produce me a certificate so I then had to go to Indigo and get all my tests re-done!

Indigo run a fantastic service - they are quick, relaible, painless and offer the hepatitus b vaccination too.

I agree that performers need to be more conscientious and not worry about offending a fellow worker. After all if you were infected and someone spotted the signs wouldn't you rather know than running the risk of becoming infertile or passing it on to another.

Well if anyone watched the Panorama programme last Sunday they would have seen that it is useless trying to get an appointment at a N/H GU clinic with waiting times running into weeks even for people who were showing symptons of an std, and the people that they interviewed were pretty laid back about it all admitting that they knew the risk of catching stds but after a few drinks it didnt seem to matter until they sobered up and then the worries kicked in so they phoned their local GU for an appointment and that is why there is such a long waiting list, the goverment minister in charge of a new drive to make people more aware of stds which was going to be launched this autumn now says it has been put back until next spring because it would probably mean more people wanting appointments at GU clinics and the waiting list would then get even longer, how much sense does that make, like i have said in previous post providing that everyone within the adult industry abides by the rules there is less chance of catching an std than outside the industry where casual unprotected sex has become the become the normal thing after a night clubbing, at least within the adult industry you know who you are having sex with,
