"Anyone else find the sums involved rather obscene?"
Everyone except the owners of clubs and player agents. They must be rubbing their hands with glee.

Problem is, fans are mugs, and I mean this in a nice way. Football clubs know they can get away with what they're charging because when you're a fan of a particular team you are a fan for life and they know this. for example if you support Arsenal and they charge ?50 to get in, you're not going to walk down the road and watch Spurs cause it's ?10 cheaper. People will moan when they put their Sky sports subscription up ?10 a month but they will carry on paying it regardless. Like people who smoke, they always find the money from somewhere. I would like to see fans boycott games until they make it affordable for everyone.

Frankly I am very surprised that you reckon you are 20 years younger than me.
You always came across in a much older way to me - a bit like a retired 80 year old Victor Meldrew.

I am old before my time, I admit that. However, you said you were a teenager in the Sixties. I wasn't born till 1969.

Indeed and Arsenal came out with the bollocks that fans demand a new kit every year rather than every other. Nonsense.
