Years ago TV and movie heroes were often middle-aged, unlike now where they're usually young. Whether it be Jim Rockford, or even films like Kelly's Heroes, the Dirty Harry films and many others, the star of the movie was the same age as your dad. Today they're usually twenty-somethings. Maybe years ago they thought a seasoned actor was the best choice for the part, rather than someone a year or two out of drama school.

I saw a poster for the new Expenables 3 movie.



It looked like the queue outside the Post Office on pension day!

I expect Sylvester Stallone and Arnie will continue to be making action movies even when they're in their 80's. Bizarelly there will still be lots of people wanting to see those films too. I'm not sure why, it is very baffling.
