I really don't get the hatred for a working class lad that has made the most from his abilities and getting to the top of his chosen profession.
Is he as good as George Best or Gascoigne? No. But he's made the most of what he's got. Surely we should admire someone with limited abilities making a success of themselves more than someone with all the ability in the world who then go and piss it up against a wall?

Beckham won 115 caps for England. About 70 were won on his football ability and the rest on his looks. Even at the 2010 world cup he was injured and yet still sat on the bench.

I disagree. Beckham won those extra caps because there was no one else better to take his place.
Maclaren dumped him to make a statement. We all know how that turned out.

He was good at passing thats about it. I am sure he is probably a nice guy,he just fits into every stereotype, follows every trend, just nothing original about him. I think he was probably hand picked by the spice girl wife of his to make money and set themselves up for life, though he is probably too dozy for that to ever dawn on him.

"He was good at passing thats about it."
His free kicks were pretty amazing, his corners where not bad, he had an amazing engine, would run and run, scored a few goals and at one point in his career he could walk into any team, few players can say that.
I am guessing you either no nothing about football, or are just trying to be antagonistic and cause a raise.
And as for your comments about his wife, I think that says a lot more about you than it does about them. I feel sorry for you having such a miserable outlook on life. Life is a lot more fun and a lot more opportunities come your way with a positive happy outlook, why not try it

Aren't all our partners hand-picked? I can't ever remember any of my girlfriends being anything other than hand-picked. What do you expect - names in a hat and picked out at random? The 'eeny meeny miny moe' method?
And I doubt it had much to do with money, given she was far richer than he was when they met. Footballers get injured, have a way of losing interest in girlfriends and moving on, falling out of favour with managers and dumped etc etc. For all she knew he could have ended back at Preston. Very risky.
What could be more likely is that they fancied each other enough to get married and have 4 kids......and stayed together. Now isn't that outrageous?

Just logged on to SKY to query a billing error and the tattooed simpleton is on the front chuffing page. Seriously is he the best SKY can do? Are all their viewers gay or easily pleased women? Could they at least find someone who lives in the UK and speak well?
