Let's compare levels of poverty with, let's say, Liberia.
You're telling us, that one in three children in the UK, are suffering like the children of Liberia? Because that's real fecking poverty.

Not being able to afford brand name cans of food, or the latest style of clothing, is not poverty. It's not nice for anyone having to scrimp and save but it isn't poverty, not in the real sense of the word.

I'm sure most of us can relate to getting 'hand me downs' as a kid, or your Mum making 3 or 4 meals out of one thing, normally ending in soup !sick!
As a child, that probably seemed like poverty and perhaps embarrassing when you were with your friends etc. Peer pressure's a bastard but as an adult, it's clearly just living within your means, not poverty.
