In this collosal waste of money Ol' Muttonchops attempted to land a Sinclair C5 on Mars to explore the terrain and report back to Earth! Needless to say it was a total failure!
Hahaha! Fancy getting that wrong! What an idiot. Couldn't organise a piss-up in a brewery etc., etc.

You need to get yourself a sense of humour transplant mate, it's called, 'A joke". I actually admire Col Muttonchops a thousand times more than any wanker of a politician that you probably hold in high regard!

Despite mrmcfister's inability to understand the issue, the threat to life on Earth from asteroids is a very real one. Perhaps mrmcfister would like to check up on what happened in Tunguska, Russia on 30 June 1908?

NASA's budget is only about 0.5% of US federal spending, so I think the U.S. can easily afford their space exploration. After all, Americans can afford to spend $3 billion a year on downloading mobile phone ring tones.

There's no need for that, Jim. I didn't get your joke.....soooorrrrryyyyy!!!! When Liz didn't get the humour in me calling william a 'nutter' I made a joke back about it. I didn't get all pissy!

You admire him so much you've not even mentioned him by his proper name yet. It's Prof. Colin Pillinger, by the way. And all I take out of your last statement is that I don't have much respect for 'wanker politicians', which is true and I thank you.

And for a man that has an aversion to 'facts' and utter contempt for people who use 'facts' I'm surprised you admire a man with a BSc. and Ph.D. in Chemistry - the least theoretical science there is.

It's like you're making it up as you go along.

LEDs
cell phones
all modern computing devices
biomedical sensors
solar cells
rechargeable batteries
fuel cells
flat screen displays
protective clothing
Satellite communications
fibre optics
etc, etc.

The space industry is a part of the defence industry. As a spin-off, when we have fucked up this planet some of us may be able to go and drive our 4x4s and fuck up another one!

I.

James W,
Know about the Russian thing. The solar system etc is far from perfect but we should look after earth first before pointless escapades .Remember too that the light we see in stars is millions of years old too so why not deal with whats going on here first?Oh and btw we're all going to be dust one day!

The amount of money given away by the U.S. in foreign aid this year will be about 10 times the budget for space exploration. Don't say the U.S. aren't doing anything to "look after earth".

Woa if thats meant to impress me it shows how crap either their generosity is or the extreme expense of flinging metal into a huge vacuum!Note too the failure of the Russian effort (again) this week. How much would that have cost and the conspiracy theorists instead of taking the flak are suggesting it may have been a western plot...you couldn;t make it up..

"the extreme expense of flinging metal into a huge vacuum!"

Yes, expensive indeed - almost half annually of what Americans spend on gift cards. But mrmcfister appears to decline the opportunity to criticise gift cards as a waste of money.

What a waste of money gift cards are.Who would pay $5 for a bit of recycled card costing just a few cents?

How's that?

Better still start your own thread?
