Well, Sky News, The Sun, The Times, The News of the World (all Rupert Murdoch), The Daily Mail/Mail on Sunday (Lord Rothermere), The Daily & Sunday Express (Richard Desmond), etc., are hardly likely to spill the beans on their owners. Nor are they going to piss off their major advertisers, such as Tescos, Vodaphone etc
Far easier to have a go at those who have no voice!

Obviously not everyone on benefits is a cheating scrounging swine.
Though lets be honest alot are. Definition of 'alot' is of course open to interpretation, lets say for arguments sake that 5% are cheating scrounging swine - that on its own is not a lot of the majority, but when that 5% translates into several thousand, well several thousand is a lot isn't it?
So everyone has a point whther you're left or right. And no-one is 100% right or wrong. Lets be honest, as we carry on through the course of ages there will be some rich who screw the system and some poor who screw the system whether its a left or right wing government or a somewhere in between one. It's more to do with the fact that everyone is different and some people don't feel guilty about doing wrong and never will. And that will never change, that much is 100%
How we deal with them will always vary, again nothing seems to work - the softly softly approach does't nor the the hang em and burn em one. So its whatever punishment appeases the majority of society at the current time as thats basically what its about, its not about trying to change them, its about trying to make us feel better. So sometimes we'll hang them and sometimes we'll hug them, it's just whatever is in fashion at the time :-0

First of all, based on the government's own figures, benefit fraud is 1% of the total benefits bill.
Secondly tax evasion and tax avoidance is a far, far, far, greater problem. The point is that this is a fact that you would never guess from reading the tabloid press and watching the media. As a result, many working people are virtually brainwashed into concentrating on benefit fraudsters to the exclusion of the huge sums that corporate Britain defraud the nation.

Fair enough its 1% but thats still 1% too many and I whole heartedly agree with you re tax evasion. I consider anyone who swindles the state and therefore us, a cockroach that should be dealt with accordingly to whatever punishment fits at the time. See reply to another post.
Unfortunately be a person a tax evader or a benefit fraud they always seem to be dealt with far too leniently eg 600k gest you 2 years 6 million gets you 4, with good behaviour etc etc out in half that. Well worth it therefore and hardly a deterrent.
