Good post Kim,my views exactly and the reason I stopped doing B/G scenes.
Also I wonder how many producers and punters would be willing to risk their health?

I suspect the same thing will happen as it did last time, the infected performer/performers will quietly leave the industry, and nothing will be said.
Those who think the UK industry hasn't already had a HIV+ performer, bow out quietly, are sadly deluded.
Sad but true.

Do a forum-search, here, for my analysis of risk/reward trade-offs.
And be grateful yer not a miner, fireman or rigger.

HTLV III has now mutated. You've got more chance of being infected
with myxomatosis by an angry bunny.
Some other nasty might come along, true, but that's the way viruses
work. They'll always be with us, and we will always take time to catch
up. That's what they do, it's how they survive. 3 billion years is the
testament to their success.

Panic is the least effective combat.

Thats a controversial statement Chris.

Bowing out quietly might leave a trail of victims who are unaware and still working with it.

You may know something that others dont. Feel free to discuss in private email if true because my main concern would be if this was recent this would need to be checked who said infected person has worked with and get them quarantined immediately.

If this is something you feel best not dealt with by the likes of me then perhaps you can do this yourself

I don't have it in for producers Terry but condoms are important, anyone on here who as ever worked with us will know we would help anyone.
The pro industry is to over the place to get anything done & like i said i would have back your data based certs if condoms were used as well otherwise its a pointless agenda.
Your product involves couples so there's no point using condoms unless a third party is involved so why protest in favour for no condoms for the other producers ?
Having heard fellow producers & their views on condoms i realise its a closed shop 'all boys together' thing so if this is also what the UKAP thinks then i am glad not to be part of it, i have had a lot of e-mails from models who think its right to use condoms but can't risk airing their views on here so who as it in for who? the scared models or the anti condom producers..

Im not sure anyone should feel scared to voice their opinions Kim.

Its not as if those who have piped up in favour of condoms are going to be denied work for their views unless they tell a producer that they wont work without condoms.

There is a big difference between the two. if a model blatantly says she wont work with anyone with anyone unless condoms were involved then sure but then they should be outspoken about it anyway and let people know they are working condom only instead of lacking spine and going along with it because they need the money because they are selling themselves out by saying they are desperate to earn money and will do this against their better judgement.

So what about girl girl then? Should girls use condoms on the toys if swapping? While it may look responsible, a lot of consumers do not buy into porn because it is responsible.

Most peoples idea of responsible would be to have a normal 9 to 5 job not even doing porn

Interesting part of that article linked above:

After an HIV outbreak in 2004 spread panic through the industry and briefly shut down production at several studios, many producers began making condoms a requirement. But they said both actors and audiences quickly rebelled.

"What happened was the talent didn't want to use condoms," said Steven Hirsch, co-Chief Executive of Vivid Entertainment Group, one of the industry's largest filmmakers. "As a result, we decided to go condom optional."
