it does seem to be exclusive to celebrities and footballers, the judicial system as a whole seems a little queer.

For example, the guys who broke into my house and were caught red handed, my stuff in their arms about to leave. Their sentence: I could ask them for a letter of appolgy.

I have met Mr. Gerrard and his friends on several occasions, Stevie always came accross as a decent down to earth guy. The same can not be said of his friends. It came across that they were friends with his status and not the man. Stevie always kept quiet and to himself whilst his friends were demanding this that and the other.

Don't forget that Stevie G is mixed up with some very tasty figures from the Merseyside underworld, maybe they were the "friends" you saw him with.

this was discussed later that night on talkradio, several people said its a wonder the prosecution didn't try to have the case heard on neutral ground outside of Liverpool if they feared a scouse jury wouldn't find him guilty. Not sure if its possible to move the court case away from the area the alleged offence occurs in though.
He thanked his legal team, his family and the club.. you'd think he'd say thanks to the jury as well and also do the decent thing and pay his own costs .
