Thought you'd say that mate.I'm just annoyed at Kenyon's arrogance over the Robinho deal.

Last weeek, the Chelsea megastore was already selling Robinho shirts with his proposed squad number.

Real Madrid though are bang out of order criticising us.Like they have been legal over their courting of C Ronaldo all summer?.Andy Mann wrote:

Chelsea are still my favourite for the Premiership Mike, they have a great squad, strength in depth and two of the best strikers in Anelka and Drogba....

As for what City (and Robinho) can do this season, well it remains to be seen, but it has to be good for the Premiership if there is another team in contention and with the financial backing to compete with Red Rom and the Yanks down at Trafford Rovers!

To be fair to Kenyon (and I really hated saying that!!!) it wasn't his arrogance but that of Adidas who changed their ad on the Chelsea website.

About a week ago I was 100% sure Robinho would NOT join Chelsea as the noises coming out of Madrid always suggested they didn't want to sell him to us.

Hi Mike,

I tell you what mate it was fucking insane yesterday! I kept wondering if I was in some parallel universe, total mad! The funniest part was making a bid for Berbatov so Sir Twat of Trafford had to pay an extra 8 million for him! Class move by Hughes! Legend. I'm not believing all that stuff about buying 18 players in January though. Thats just the new owners winding up the press. Hughes will build the side he can and I reckon he'll want to include building the youth academy up too. Mr Cassell has done a fantastic job there and I hope City will continually support him which i'm sure they will.

Anyway, Robinho was a shock to say the least. The next home match is against you lot. Don't think we'll win it (hope we do!) but it'll be a great atmosphere especially with the return of SWP! Not sure where we'll finish as long as its not in the division below but its gonna be one off its head season

cheers pal!

If city can hang on to a reasonable place in the league until January (i.e top 6) which I think they can, the player we would be able to poach from some of the european clubs that may well be out of the champs league by then (Ribery, David Villa - valencia aren't even in the CL - those types of players)
and I can't see arsenal turning down a mega bucks deal for fabregas either with their new stadium to be built - I can see us finishing top 4 this season.
I'd still be happy with top 8 mind

i'm usually happy with anything from 17th or above!! I think a few City fans will crash back down to earth soon enough. I don't think we'll go that far this season and I reckon a few players who have been mentioned will prefer to wait and see rather than sign. And others will just scoff at joining us. Personally I hope we keep with who we've got and maybe add a couple of good solid but unfashionable players instead in January. Not sure if that'll happen judging by recent comments though. I want City to be a success in their own right not look like a bloody carnival. If we win something with a good honest side like we have now i'd be well proud. If we bought all the most famous players in the world and replaced the team to win a cup I think i'd eventually bugger off and watch Droylsden. I'd be happy they'd won but it'd be the end of it for me as well. All the humour and soul would be gone and replaced with the kind of fans you get at OT. Too serious and first rate tossers mainly although some are sound.

Hopefully we won't go down that route and Blughes will create his own sides not the owners fantasy football side! But its just a hope. Anyway, life will never be the same for that club and its out of hands so i'll just enjoy and moan about the new season as always. If they lost 8-1 again with a billion pound side put together in january, i think i'd actually find that funny this time round! Now that would be typical City! Its the irony I always love and I'm trying to stay grounded. I have a cautious feeling inside that tells me to be patient and not to crow about it too much. Thats 30 plus years of support for you.

Oh don't you worry Lucifer, you will start getting the prawn sandwich munchers at Eastlands very soon, like we now have down at The Bridge.

The gloryhunters will be arriving in their droves as your ticket prices will rise and the genuine City fan since man and boy gets priced out of the game.

It's the price one pays for success.
