In a week in which the remarkable George Carlin sadly passed away, let's not spare the rod:

Mitchell & Webb - I know Peep Show had its moments, but their sketch show was dire beyond words.

The Mighty Boosh - For students only, especially first year students for whom everything is, like, wow, y'know?

Jennifer Saunders - Umpteen failed sitcoms/pilot shows in the last five years. Married to...

Adrian Edmonson - That sitcom he just did for ITV (I have mentally blocked its name) was possibly the worst thing ever. Worse than Frank Skinner's, or at least just as bad.

Peter Kay: Garlic bread! Kids at wedding! Oh, do fuck off.

I agree that Lenny Henry has never been funny - he's more a product of positive discrimination by the BBC, in so-far-as they 'need' a black comedian to fulfil quotas.

But the funniest I ever saw Lenny Henry (unintentionally) was when he was on that propaganda Global Warming Concert hosted by Jonathon Ross. He was interviewed in the presence of John Mcenroe and started going on about how he was late turing up on account of some family business crap - he obviously thought this was funny and would have everyone falling about. JR cut him short and said we are here to discuss GW, not your family (another lame attempt at humour) ..... but the funny thing was Mcenroe never had a clue who Lenny Henry was and joined in with Ross's put down with some line like 'who does this guy think he is, coming on here and talking crap about his family'. I've never seen JR change the subject so quickly - he didn't know what to say and you could just see him cringing and thinking 'what the fuck do I say now'. It was a TV highlight fo me.

Alan Carr- completely ruined the Friday/Sunday Night Project...notice the name change due to falling audiences.

And no, I'm not homophobic- Graham Norton makes me laugh.

A few years ago Elton wrote a comedy series for ITV. It was so appallingly bad they only ever broadcast 2 episodes.
