Dibble decided to dabble and wrote:
"The Tories on the other hand have an honest personal advancement ethos that is more in tune with these snout in the trough shenanigans. It?s still sleazy, but not wildly hypocritical." !laugh! !laugh! !laugh!
That's about the funniest load of Bull Sh*T I've heard in years.
So it's alright for the Tories to do what they want because its noy hypocritical and is expected of them?
The days of Family Values and Tories shagging secretaries and anyone they want to whilst telling the rest of us not to are still with us in spirit then.
The Highway Code breaking cyclist is obviously running the party just as it's always been run and good Old Dibble never lets us down, always shows up eventually to give us a laugh.

All this 'what side are you on?' bollocks is getting a bit irksome.
As a mature student, I attended one night out last year at the university nightclub - above the stages there were big 'text message displays' - you could text a message to the displayed number and it would be displayed... And as you'd expect from a load of sniffy 6th form graduates it develped into a naive 'Gordon Brown is the best! The Tories are all rotters' vs 'Hurrah for David Cameron!' game of text tennis, and it really made me cringe. However there's a lot of it going on here from here from people old enough to know a lot better than think in such simplistic terms.... the general gist of this thread seems to be 'Look a TORY has their snout in the trough, this makes the NuLabour Luvvies alright then!'
No it does not make any of it alright.
I agree with Dibble to an extent here - it's the pious crap coming from people who think they can tell us black is white that is worse than the actual nest-feathering going on. If you're happy with a bunch of over-privileged hypocrites telling you everything from what car you can drive to what you should be thinking then rest assured I am not and don't see why I should be.
Question Time was good this week btw, that horrid little creep David Miller Band took a right battering from the rest of the guests & the audience, his attempts to put words into peoples mouths and subvert facts were never clearer. Looking back I'd say almost everyone in this country who voted for their mate Tony in the last 3 elections feel very cheated indeed, and the backlash will be greater than anything that beset the Tories in the 90's

What a silly 6th form debate this thread has become. Little wonder this country is fucked

He may not have broken any rules but he's stood down (or been let go by his party). This tells us that he's not lived up to his own, or his party's moral expectations.
Socialist or capitalist, both would say publicly that this sort of stuff is wrong, and both continually don't practice what they preach. So both are 'sniffy hypocrites'.
Aren?t we all programmed to feather our own nests first?
Actually, no. We're a social animal that would never have got to dominate the Earth had we not been highly co-operative, fair and just to one another.
'"The Selfish gene" - Richard Dawkins', '"Evolutionary Psychology" - Dunbar Barrett Lycett' and '"The Mind of the Market: Compassionate Apes, Competitive Humans, and Other Tales from Evolutionary Economics" - Michael Shermer' (I've not read the last one yet) will give you multiple examples of 'co-operatives' over 'dissenters' (givers over takers) in human society.
'Feathering our own nests first' is a last resort policy to keep the individual alive, not a natural state of mind (like ultra-capitalists want us to believe). Such a state of mind fragments a social group, which would lead to uncooperative, distrustful individuality, yet we all know Humans -like all apes- evolved within groups of high social structure.
Maybe this is why the more capitalist a society becomes, the more fragmented, violent and apathetic it is accused of being (by it's own individuals no less!)?

The trouble with you none pious crap merchants who rant on about the excellent Green Dave and his Whoops- a- daisy clan is that you appear to forget that Green Dave said he was putting an end to this Punch and Judy bollocks.
Far from do that he employed the fucking bloke whose been caught with his pants down.

Obviously a Tory. I can't remember you getting upset at the numerous 'NuLab' threads over the past few years.

I'm not a Tory.
Nor am I a Labour syncophant.
I despair of what goes on and how stupid most people are.
You keep on with your labels & badges if that's what makes you feel good

I'd say the worst thing about Mr Cameron is his ridiculous pandering to the 'green' brigade, but then again people have been force-fed all that crap for years so I suppose to make himself electable to the masses he has to seem 'environmentally responsible'
