I think we all have to remember that the continental countries like Spain, Italy and Greece have a vastly different way of policing though.

Yeah. like beating on the victims simply because they're foreign and turning a blind eye to the perpetrators because they're Italian. Do the words "racist" and "prejudiced" mean anything to you all?

So tell me more about these perpetrators all being Italian then Mojo ... of course none of the perpetrators could have been Man. Utd. or Spurs fans now could they. What happened with the majority of Man Utd fans was bang out of order but what happened with the Spurs fans wasn't as some of them were clearly looking for trouble in that part of the ground, breaking chairs and throwing missiles. The English media had to do a bit of backtracking on that I guess.
It does my head in how they are all innocent when interviewed on the news later ... yeah it was the Spanish/German/Italian/fans/police that caused it we were only watching the football ... yeah sure bud.

Hard to believe, but our law and order-mad Home Sec was on the news and appeared to question the official police versions of events.

I heard on the news that they were provoking the English fans, which was the main cause for the trouble starting with the bone heads on our side.

Yeah...............

You're certainly missing the point I'm trying to make. The police don't need to control a crowd with cracking heads. Not unless the crowd is being so aggressive they become out of control. None of that was at the Roma v Utd match the other night. British police have proved that you do not need to police football matches that way, and British violence levels for over 20 years have proved that it works even better.

As for the Malcolm Glazier thing....well they fans went OTT. Some idiots I guess, but no one was killed unlike in Italy. Making a bomb is premeditated, which makes it worse in my eyes. Lets all remember a very important point about crowd violence in Italy: the clubs pay their 'Ultras' to turn up to games. Yes you heard right; the clubs want hooligans at the games! They actively seek out Ultras and send them free tickets for some reason. So they're as much to blame for that policeman's death as the hooligans.

....and yes, some police do love aggro. Bombs or no bombs. They're only human after all, and you don't have to travel very far to find a human that likes aggro........do you?
