to legalise the sex trade would be a postive step, it would bring income in the form of taxes, safety for the workers and customers if the girls had to be licensed to work in the approved premises by submitting to regular testing for STDS and i would hope street drugs.
Seeing the state of skag heads who work in the sex trade i find worrying that punters even go near them and says more about the punter.
As for drug dealers being nice blokes, i agree theres some that you can have a lovely chat with (the same for sex offenders) but you have to remember what they did and the lack of empathy and concern for others it requires to do it.
Hitler was a nice bloke to his friends as well.

Sam,
Can only reply to para one because in it you imply that "illegal" is synonymous with bad. End of discussion: but think about intense pleasure or aeshetic experience of altered minstates and you might just think that you are only seeing one aspect of reality. That reality is constructed by by yourself. The observer is part of the observation.

Yes, but not all prostitutes work on the street. Those that do are mostly drug addicts. Sure, prostitution has been with us since the dawn of time, but it takes different forms.

Yeah but Sam - unlike most street prostitutes, you weren't raised in care, weren't physically and sexually abused as a child, and weren't prey for pimps who would get you hooked and then put you to work. So instead of judging people who have had far worse lives than you, try to understand how they got there.
And these women aren't crying for free help. They're on the streets earning their drug money in the nastiest way possible.

Legalising drugs won't rid the world of addicts.

Ballocks. It will create more addicts and there will be more robbing and thiefing going on to pay for it.
I'm not against legalising prostitution (but as I said but legalising it won't stop what happened in Ipswich) but legalising drugs is absolute shite.
