But you didn't like David Gilmour's "On an island" either...did you?

maybe that was someone else?, on the Who side, there's a fantastic bootleg from Amsterdam Concertgebouw '69 (Recorded by the same Dutch radio station that also recorded the Pink Floyd's gig there the same year) happy to drop you a link if you don't already have it.

Arnold, On an Island grew on me, espec the title track.

This Who album lacks firepower, it is quiet, laid back and would sound even worse live.

Think of their live classics, Won't Get Fooled, I Can See etc, loud, powerful, heavy bass and drumming from Moon and the Ox, this new stuff has nothing of their ilk. Every great artist, be it a painter, musician or sculptor only has so much genius, after a while he or she will get stale..........

Good point mate, hence Roger Waters current/recent tour, 1 new composition (Leaving Beirut) in the whole 2 1/2hr set, and he's using backing tapes in parts (Trust me I've seen more than one video now to confirm this) The Gunners dream was dropped from the set after only a few shows this year. I collected recordings of pretty much every, if not all David Gilmours 2006 shows, but Rog doing The Dark side of the moon complete in the second half, and it's just overkill, it was ok when Pink Floyd done it in 1994, but still has something missing, Waters is apparently finishing a new studio album, I hope it's as good as the sublime Amused to death, The Pro's & Con's of hitchiking I still have no fucking idea what it's about (Although standout track Every strangers eyes is superb) Radio Kaos had it's moments, I didn't bother with Ca Ira (his opera thing) according to Rog this new album of his is about "Sex & how to save the world" I really hope when the world tour starts next year he plays something different, The Who album I doubt I'll listen to again, there were a few singles in there. it'll be interesting to see how it plays out live at least, too many accoustic songs, playing stadiums will just have people shouting out for the classics. and like you quite rightly said the abscene of The Ox & Moon is sadly vastly apparent.
