It's Tokai not Tokia.

Bought a Tokai Strat from a shop in Newport back in '89. The guy who started Tokai used to work for Fender and Gibson in Japan and made replicas that were better than Fender's cheaper products but that got shut down due to legal issues.
Also have a genuine American Series Telecaster. IMO the Tele is a better rhythm guitar and the Strat the better lead.

Don't use headphones or buy a cheap amp, they will only make the guitar sound cheap as well. Just annoy the neighbours.

There are several good budget guitar makes around Vintage and Yamaha to name a couple.

I learned how to play on an electric, found it alot easier to play than an acoustic, but I can play an acoustic fine now.

admittedly i did start on an acoustic but it doesn't matter in the least.

That is simply not true, Keith.

The vast majority of accomplished electric guitar players who began on either an acoustic or a classical guitar, did so out of sheer necessity. Nowadays, however, a fairly reasonable electric guitar may be purchased for little more than the price of a beginner's acoustic or classical instrument.

My first professional engagement as a guitarist was in 1965. I was also assistant professor of music, Yale University, for ten years and I can assure you that the performance, and teaching, of the electric guitar have come a long way since the days when an impoverished, aspiring blues player would get his early 'training' on a 'beaten-up old acoustic guitar with three strings missing', before earning enough to buy his first electric guitar by delivering newspapers.

Nowadays, thankfully, it is more usual than not for a person wishing to play electric guitar to begin on an electric guitar.

nylon strings are a bitch. nothing shows up a dud note like a nylon strung guitar. as for bending a note? even a semi-tone sounds pained

steel strung acoustic dreadnoughts or jumbos will have 13s or 14s to 56-ish which is very painful to a new player whereas electrics will have 9s or 10s to 42 or 46 which will make the guitar easier on delicate little digits before they develop the numbness that accompanies a seasoned pro
