First of all the way you have replied just confirms what I said in that you are bitter. Your catty comments about be happy with third and all that just smacks of bitterness and childishness.

Secondly far be it from me to defend Man Utd but the core of their squad came through there youth team. The Nevilles, Beckham, Giggs, Scholes etc.

You know there's one big difference between my posts on this forum and yours. I don't believe that I am the fountain of all knowledge. Sure I have an opinion and I'm not backwards in giving that opinion. However I'm not arrogant to believe that I am always in the right as sometimes nobody is
right as everbody is entitled to a view.

Maybe the latter is something you might like to consider?

Yeah I think when Man U won stuff it was mainly by players coming through the ranks. Man U & Arsenal have spent money on players but they've only purchased 1 big star at a time. Chelsea just about purchased a 'team' of stars over 2 years and only Blackburn had done that previously.

As for the Rafa/Mourinho debate.....

They're both awsome managers! I couldn't see Liverpool getting more points than they have this season with Mourinho in charge, and if Rafa was at Chelsea then they woulda still won the league, so there's little difference between them really.

Yes but you guys have got to remember that Jose has done almost the unthinkable and misproved all those people that made a living out of commenting on football who always said that you cannot buy successs (In English Football)... well fuck in my book that idea has been blown out of the water, but alas it seems a few fans aint exactly impressed with winning the Premiership (aka Singleton) and now demand that the Champions League should be next on the agenda, fuck bob take a rain check mate ... think where you guys were 3 or 4 years ago ... Jose has done what he and the Chelsea supporters demand ... brought the top honour in English Football to Chelsea not once but fucking twice ... unchallenged, but yet unhappiness amongst fans who had seen zilch for decades wtf??
Maybe it can be said that you cannot buy succes in the bigger picture (ie the champions league) because unfortunately there are bigger teams on that stage who might have the flair and the knowledge and the nous to pull the whole thing off??
PEOPLE think Stephen Hawking is so clever, but when you ask him a question and he is typing in the answer on his little screen, how do we know he isn't just looking up the answer on the Internet?

You've not actually read my post, then? I've not DEMANDED we win anything!

I first started supporting Chelsea as a kid in about 1968/69 when my parents moved house and our new next door neighbour was Eddie McCready. A quarter of a mile down the road was a bank's sports ground (long since turned into housing) that also doubled as Chelsea's training ground (before they moved to near Heathrow airport).

I remember good years like 1970 (FA Cup) and 1971 (European Cup Winners Cup). I also remember the very bad years, stood in The Shed watching us playing Grimsby in the old second division.

I am happy that we've won back-to-back championships, and I hope we win again next year (please note "hope" not "expect"). I'd like us to win a cup, too, preferably the CL, but that takes a bit of luck. We proved that when we won the League Cup last season... Gerrard's own goal was a huge slice of luck.

As for Man U... yes they had a good group of youngsters thet came through the club... Giggs, Sharpe, Beckham, the Nevilles... but they also had the financial clout to outbid everyone else when it came to buying the rest of the team... Bruce and Pallister weren't home grown, nor Cantona, Keane, Ince, Hughes, etc. All bought for what were in those days hefty fees!

As for Rafa and Mourinho... if the managers had swopped jobs last season, Liverpool would be challenging for first spot rather than having an outside chance of second, and Chelsea wouldn't have won back to back championships!

This part of the thread started when a myopic Liverpool fan thanked the Lord his beloved manager hadn't been asked to manage the England team... sorry, but I had to put him right about Rafa's "qualities". Inspite of his success at Valencia, when the Spanish FA were looking for a new manager in 2004 they chose Luis Arogones, not Rafa...they knew he just wasn't good enough!

Then eduardo started moaning that we'd "bought" the league. Well, fans of other clubs will undoubtedly find any excuse for their own club's short-commings. I'd like to remind eduardo that at a time when Houllier was spending more than Ranieri, Chelsea still finnished higher than Liverpool, and that his argument about the amount of money clubs spend is a spurrious one!

"But how to make Liverpool economically prosperous? If only there was some way for Liverpudlians to profit from going on and on about the past in a whiny voice."

You know I took my kids out to Torquay for the day and I would have had a better chance of getting a more balanced and unbiased view off my 5 year old son.

You simply don't get it do you. This is simply down to opinions. No doubt some people here agree with me and some might agree with you but the simple fact is neither of us can be proved right as it's impossible to go back in time (although you probably think you can do that) and put the various managers in the opposite clubs and give it a go.

You also called snowy "myopic" but it is you that is suffering from impaired vision as you can't see past your own viewpoint. It smacks of complete and total arrogance and it has to be as you flame any forumites who dare to differ from your god like comments.

This forum has been been good a place but in the last year it has started to die a slow death and it's because of people like you who just come on here for a row and to try to prove (to yourself) that you are cleverer than everybody else.

Thank fuck I'm away tomorrow for 3 days as it will save me from your posts and like Buttsie, Magoo and many other regular forumites who have left here then I might just try another forum as I'm sick of the bitterness.

No doubt when I get back on Wednesday you will have posted another cocky reply to show how more intelligent you are than the rest of us mere mortals.
