I believe that alot of clubs have stopped paying agents fees if the player re signs with the club.

It is believed that this is the reason for the delay in Rio Ferdinand's contract as "the scum" are refusing to pay Pini Zihavi a fee.

Obviously this, in my opinion, would make the problem worse and encourage agents to "persuade" their client to move.

That's what they mean, if not what they say.

Agents are a parasitic infestation. Obviously the player needs someone looking for his interests, but they have to be his---and not the agents.

We've had promising young players up here leaving clubs before they have learned all they need to learn, and many end up crawling back after a season being loaned out by the "big" English clubs they moved to.

I agree and the same can be said of the Dutch and Portugese Leagues where a lot players from around the globe started off.

They were allowed to physically develop and improve with less pressure and would then move on when 23-24 when they were ready and had proved themselves.

Now many bypass this and go straight to the big leagues because of the promise of big bucks.

Hugo Viana is one of many examples that I can think of.

Indeed..... how would Ronaldo fare now if he was a talented 20 year old? Straight to Real Madrid where expectation would be high? Luckily he had a few years at PSV under Bobby Robson before going to Inter and then Real.
