'How you could justify 4 white cops beating a black man senseless under the guise he was attempting to escape is beyond me.'

Previously I'd thought 'resisting arrest' was the official line on R.King. Intrigued, I trotted swiftly to Google:

Alarming to say the least.

I did not watch the programme about bent coppers and one would think that in my job the last thing I would do is jump to their defence. But, in my dealings with the Manchester branch of the Obscene Publications Squad, it would be fair to say that they carried out their duties as laid down by the law.

Through the late 80's and 90's they carried out their job with integrity and although the OPA gives them plenty of opportunities to cheat - they never did.

If policemen went about there duties as the Manchester Obscene did then none of us would have any complaints.

The Pigs could recruit the smartest people with the best exam results but it doesn't make a scrap of difference because all new recruits are usually Green

I'll take streetwise over smart anyday

No substitute for learning on the job

I almost got arrested once for sitting in a non-alcohol which wasn't marked as such drinking a beer

When the officers ask me did I knew i was in a non-alcohol zone i said no
and asked how I would know as there isn't any signage-a valid argument.A Streetwise copper would have said if you wouldn't mind moving 20 metres to the designated alcohol zone we'll forget it but no they said if I left my beer and moved on they wouldn't arrest me-pricks.A perfect case of how to alienate yourself from the honest public

To this day I just don't acknowledge or speak to them period
They are nothing but trouble in my book

cheers
