im not gonna justify people's personalities when i dont kno them but a couple of things spring to mind - mcartney to me wrote the best beatles songs and im not surprised if hes been bitter for 40 years living in the shadow of a man who personally i dont think wrote better songs....Imagine is vastly overrated and doesnt even begin to compare to Yesterday in any sense, musically etc. ppl always say "ahhaha frog chorus" but they forget....Come Together, Live and let die, Yesterday, Hey Jude(? apparently) and some of the other main ones that lapse my mindat the moment! fucking typical....lol...
also my second point was dont forget how much of their monies are tied up in assets and companies - maybe not mcartney but publishing rights etc...i hope i dont ever have to face those dilemmas, id just settle for being anywhere between content to comfortable to very comfortable...and im only 20 so dont despair about the modern generations, we arent all greedy

'come together'??? surely this is one of THE definitive lennon songs.
on the other hand (and i'm not a huge beatles fan) mccartney's 'hey jude' is, imo, one of the most sublime melodies ever written.

well the bassline to come together was paul and trust me as guitarist (u may well be too) thats the defining part of the song....i cant remember all mcartneys best ones but Yesterday has to be one of THE all time tracks, its the most covered after all

i agree ace, a day in the life is the stand out track on pepper, but abbey road as far as im concerned is the best out the 2 ,im not eluding to the fact cos it was released in 69 really it has something for evreyone on it the 2 sides of the hit single for one.
