For me personally I would rather work with a normal looking guy than a pretty boy.

There is nothing worse than seeing some stud who loves himself and treats the girl like a piece of meat and has no feelings. The chemistry has to be there in some form.

For me studs like Willie Shafter, Steve Hooper, Paul Jones & G are what I like. But then again I am 42 now and have no interest in working with anyone under 25, so I guess for the younger girls they want to work with the younger studs. I guess producers decide on what would look good for the scene they want to achieve and take it from there.

Its not studs but female models who are finding it hard. People want real girls not pumped up, botoxed supertanned girls. Why because they may dream about them but they know they will never get them. I've never really bought into this whole "stick an average or ugly looking guy in front of the camera so that the man on the street can relate" argument. Back in the day where a splash of brut and clean pants were considered the height of male grooming I guess the male audience were not so discerning about the looks of their studs. The landscape has however changed and in these metro times guys are taking more care with their appearance and is therefore reflected in the type of new male talent coming onto the scene. I for one applaud it. If having to pick between two equally good performers for a shoot I would go for the better looking one everytime ... Why wouldn't I? Better looks makes for a better looking scene.

As Frankthring says guys can go over the top with the whole body building thing just like women can with surgery, but this doesn't mean that a guy that works out and takes care of his appearance because he wants to look his best for himself, his co-star and ultimately his audience should be condemmed as some kind of self loving freak. Besides which in all the years I've been performing for the likes of Private and Dorcel I've rarely come across the Roid boy look, just attractive male and female models. And quite rightly too, this is supposed to be the glamour industry after all.

With regard to Jims comment about many women realting to a guys sense of humour over his physique... Thats all very well, but unless the stud is gonna pull of a bit of stand up before the sex starts I think this particular kind of viewer may well be watching the wrong kind of material.
