I believe what happens is that producers nominate their own films. Which one is decided as the best.... who knows? Maybe the producer or company with the most money and can shoot the loudest.
Only BGAFD Female Performer of the Year is nominated by the general puplic.
As for a joke.... well, I believe having unreleased material winning then YES that's a joke!
