Yep, that too seems a likely scenario. In fact, I've always suspected (at least with the current government), so long as some nagging Daily Mail style campaign isn't banging on about porn or threatening to, that they'd much prefer to look the other way about everything on the subject.

While agreeing in principle with all your relevent facts, statements of this
report and that report which body said this, when and to whome it comes
down to one basic consideration, this goverment will not allow us the
freedom of expression in any way shape or form unless it's what they deem
fit for us to do so and nothing else.
What is it you are trying to attain the freedom to watch "porn" we can do
that any time we like 24/7, all we have to do is "click" the mousse and
away we go , to all sorts of weird and dare i say wonderfull and the not
so wonderfull sites.
Don't forget that if we were ever blessed with the right to view uncensored
porn in this country , who do you think will be providing us with our new
found viewing delights , the same bunch of money grabbing shisters who
are fleecing us now that's who!!!
And would it be all new material no way it will be the same old crap they
have been feeding us for years , but now they can show it uncensored!!!!
so they are in a win -win situation , and the poor old subscriber will be
charged even more per night to watch something that's already been
shown god knows how many times before but now it's legal.
In your closing statement you say shame on the punter and more so on the
members of the adult industry, if you think it's going to be that easier a
battle to win in a court of law in this country. Why don't you as a private
citizen take this up on there behalf, hire a solicitor and a good barrister
then when you loose (which you will) you can then spend the rest of your
life trying to pay the goverments court cost's, i'm affraid that's why no one
in this country is prepared to take on this challenge, and they know it!!!!!
Keep on writing your opinions by all means , and be grateful we can do this
with out goverment hindrence (so far), but please no more about the "we
have the right" to watch this that and the other , we don't and if you can
change it please do so.

This all interesting facts but as u said is it all about porn & r freedom 2 watch it! Hmmm NO not all & yeah as u said if we wanna watch porn just click the mouse & away we go BUT we live in a country with free speach & a right 2 have r say so we shouldn?t need 2 go 2 the net 2 watch what we want. We should have the choice r self?s wither a film is 2 graphic r if we wanna watch porn!!!
This is a fact in the 70?s u could easily go 2 the cinema 2 watch porn & 4 some reason now we can?t even watch what we want at home at night!

Ahh the why don't you take them to court argument. If the Code is a breach of the Human Rights Act, it is an infingement the rights of broadcasters to free expression not the individual, so no point in me going to court. The Human Rights Act doesn`t give me the right to demand to have a broadcaster schedule porn, just because I want to watch it, any more than I can demand they schedule a 24 hr channel dedicated to Blue Peter. It's down to a broadcaster to challenge the Ofcom guidelines. Not an individual.
Now I currently have Ofcom backed into a corner over this very issue, you see I'm doing my bit to try to change things instead of accepting the crap from this Government, what are you doing about it? Sit there and accept it?
You say "we don't have the right", as a broadcaster you have every fucking right and you've had it since 1990 (Groppera AG). If it's legal you can broadcast it. That is ECHR Case Law and has to be applied to UK law, no if, buts or maybes.
All regulation in the Code must be prescribed by law and necessary in a democratic society. Unnecessary regulation should not be in the Code. Rules cannot be made at the whim of a regulator. Regulation should be transparent, accountable, proportionate, consistent and targeted only at cases where action is needed. That is a requirement of the Communications Act but it is also part of the test Ofcom has to apply in restricting freedom of expression.
Then on a whim they have denied broadcasters the freedom of expression with a totally disproportionate and unnecessary ban of legal adult material.

I rather go somewhere like videobox.com and download the films overnight. You can get DVD quality full screen, not pixellated little screens. And it only cost $14.95. OK, you have to wait a bit, I download overnight and have 3 new DVD quality films waiting for me in the morning.
