I fully agree - I'd love to see a series - of even a one-off documentary
on the 'light side of porn'. Porn is clearly being more widely accepted -
the simple facts that we can buy R18 videos and that Ch4 can show
complete nudity and even Sahara pissing (if not in close-up detail -
shame!). In fact the section on Sahara didn't really show a darker
side - except for the reaction of her friends/family and that's nothing
to do with the porn industry. Yes Max Hardcore comes across as
dreadful and there have been previous documentaries saying
the same - but he is one person. Rob Black didn't fair much better!
But why can't we have a balanced view with people who obviously
enjoy their work? For that matter, how many professions have workers
who are 100% happy with what they have to do 100% of the time?
Take teachers - you could make a wonderful documentary about how
they are verbally abused, are threatened with the police being called
if they so much as touch a pupil, are threatened with knives in schools,
and lose most of their evenings and weekends to marking... How often
do we hear of them being 'exploited'???
How about a petition from the porn industry to a Channel 4 commissioning
editor???

There actually was a documentary along these lines in Channel 4 this week! I didn't see it, but reading about it made teaching sound rather less attractive than appearing in hardcore!
I didn't think this particular programme was so bad, Frankie and Sahara were both shown as grown women making their own choices. Frankie decided in the end she did not like the porn business, but she was never forced to do anything she did not want to.
Also, don't forget the Seymore Butts programme "Porn a Family Business" on 5, Seymour, his Mum and Cousin Stevie were shown as pretty normal people making a living in the hardcore business. Of course it helped that Seymore is a naturally pleasant kind of guy, I doubt that Max Hardcore would have come across quite so well!

This question has been answered before.
They are Laura[5] and Vickie Powell.
Both are listed in the actresses section of this website.

Shame I missed that!

I agree - they both did come across well, but it was the infill between
them that tried to make out that it was all 'the dark side'

Yes that was superb and was definitely 'the light side' - would have
been good if they had aired that at the same time as the dark
side...

I dislike MaxHardcore videos as well. He has a sort of Svengali type influence/control over some of the girls he takes into his stable. Catalina was one of his girls for a few years .. but when you saw them together there was this definate master/slave relationship. Most of the girls seem afraid to express any opinion without the nod from Max - and some of them are not even nice looking, quirky would be more apt.

just to put the other side, from someone who is definitely not afraid to express her opinion:

True, I liked the bit where Frankie was going on the train to Derby, and the narrator was going on about how she was going to see 3 strange men, she was really apprehensive, she didn't know where she was going blah blah blah, and then she came back and it was fine!
