I think a problem for British producers, and the British porn industry in general is the size of our country and subsequently the fact that we have a limited number of girls in the business, therefore a producer who needs to churn out work consitently to maintain his income will shoot anyone who will do the work, i.e. the same faces, implants or not, because that's all we have.
That's why, apart from the gradual introduction of new girls each year, all our sites, videos and magazines all feature the same girls. They are a limited commodity. No one will say "sorry, we don't shoot girls with implants," there simply isn't enough new talent. The consumer is never consulted, and get's what they're given.
Who remembers the Sun polling it's readers about whether to make Page 3 a silicone free zone? A huge majority voted to ban implanted girls, and they went along with it for a while, until they thought everyone had forgotten. What was the problem there? Not enough girls without? Haven't looked recently but I know it didn't last long at the time.
...and Sandie, please, please, please don't. I know you've asked about it in the recent past, but we love you as you are.

The problem with The Scum was the popularity at the time of one Ms M Messenger who was not shy and retiring in talking about her implants. From the little I see of said rag, it seems to err much more on the natural look. The day that someone beautiful, natural and perfect like Melanie Walsh gets them done is the day I sign up to a monastery high in the Himalayas.
Good to see some comment from a model herself. It was beginning to resemble an episode of grumpy old men---and the silence from the ladies themselves was becoming deafening.

If it is peer presure from other models then why is it so often something that happens when girls start to break into the US market. I don't think its just producers but I don't think it's just peer pressure either. I think its the perception of what that market requires - particularly what is seen as "fashionable" in terms of body image. I don't think its a lot different from other trends like how suddenly almost every video coming out from mainstream US producers is full of deep throating, really hard anal, ass to mouth, gagging and often mild strangulation - its what's currently seen as in vogue and "sexy" (even if some of us think otherwise) and in time these trends will change (one can only hope in a direction that is more erotic and valueing of women).
Some people have also said self esteem may be a factor but again, it wasn't when they were primarily UK models - unless its just a desire they harboured for a long time but didn't have the money and opportunity I suppose. However I think although the self esteem arguement may be true in some cases as always it wouldn't hold up for everyone and may be percieved by some models as rather judgemental anyway.

Seems more than coincidental.

Doesn't that bring us back to the self-esteem issue, just once removed?

Which was why I was careful to talk only in general terms, and stress the truism that adults are free to do what they like with their bodies, as long as they are fully aware of all pros and cons.
Why oh why oh why......

How many more beautiful girls with fine natural figures will go this way?
There's no point in giving examples of bgafd girls who look bloody daft post op as the names would be removed, if not the post deleted, but just from the world of showbiz.. Lesley Ash.
Oh the worry of it all.... where will things end.

Hi guys n gals,
Back from the US now and heard about this thread. Sorry you all feel this way but it's what i've wanted for a while and I haven't done it to break into any US market or because I felt I had to.
I was thinking about it for a few years but wanted the right surgeon. I finally found the sergeon who did Vicky's so decided to go ahead with it. They look a little false at the moment but they will take 6-12 months to 'settle'.
Face to face from new US fans at the AVN and US and UK producers I've had positive remarks about my new look. I think the problem with models having boob jobs done only applies to the girls that people have seen quite a lot of 'the natural way', while girls who are enhanced before they come into the industry no-one complains about.
Also the other point is that it's 'en vogue' to slag off girls with implants at the moment so anyone who actually doesn't mind them just keeps quiet...
Anyway I wish you all the best and thank's for all your comments, good and bad!

The intention wasn't to slag you off, Michelle. Simply to say that, in the opinion of many of us, you didn't need it done. You make a good point about the fact that we tend not to have a go at those who had implants before embarking on a modelling career (one of JJ's posts above carries a link to quotes from one girl who had her breasts enhanced at 17, probably before she'd finished growing).
In the end, it's your choice and no one can dispute that; so long as you are happy with the results, that you had it done for your own good reasons (and not pressure from anywhere else), well, it doesn't matter what a few sad old gits think
Best of luck with your career.
