News is coming through that Cesc Fabregas is to start tomorrow's Euro 2008 final against Germany in Vienna. The Arsenal midfielder has currently been used as a substitute but is likely to take his place ahead of the injured David Villa.Daniel Guiza is expected to be on the bench despite Villa's injury.

Germany should have Torsten Frings available after coming on as a sub against Turkey.Should Frings be fit enough to start,Rolfes will drop to the bench.

Probable teams
Spain:Casillas,Marcherana,Puyol,Capdevilla,Ramos,Iniesta,Fabregas,Silva,Xavi,Senna,Torres

Germany:Lehman,Lahm,Metzelder,Mertesacker,Freidrich,Ballack,Frings,Sweinstieger,Hitzelsberger,Podolski,Klose.

To be honest I'm surprised I'm still leading after a poor score during the 3rd set of group matches. Very disappointed to have lost by 1pt in the semis in the "head to head" competition to some Russian supporting Thai!!! !idontbelieveit!

As I can't decide whether Spain or Germany will win, I've decided to pack my Fantasy team with players from the side I want to see win, so it's all or nothing so long as the game doesn't end up as 0-0 draw after extra time... but I'm not saying who in case that influences other fantasy managers reading this! !wink!

Fabregas was always a likely starter once Villa had been ruled out, as Torres prefers playing up front alone.

German gutter rag,De Bilde are reporting that Michael Ballack is a doubt with a calf injury and that he has'nt trained since Thursday.

This is the paper that photo shopped Ballack with the European Championship trophy on the day the tournament started.

Mind games are in full swing already, but if Ballack really is injured, then advanced congractulations to Spain !drink!

That's what we're afraid of dimi. The Germans do turn it on when it really matters. But Spain have been the best team in the tournament(imo),so my money is on a 2-0 Spain win with Fabregas as 1st goalscorer, just looking who'll offer me the best odds.dimi wrote:

I see that almost everyone in the Euro 2008 Fantasy League has hedged their bets by picking teams made up almost 50/50 with players from both sides.

Mike has gone all Spanish bar Ballack whilst I've gone 100% for Spanish players... so I'm fucked if Germany win!

Sorry Mike, I was flicking through everyone's teams very quickly and I thought you had Ballack, but actually you chose Klose... not that it's done you much good!

So, half time and my all Spanish team is doing enough to keep me in first place... viva Espagna!!!!

Very fitting. The best team of the tournament won.Well done to Spain, definetley favourites to win the world cup in 2010.

Only the deluded of people would believe that Torres would move to Chelsea. The man is priceless, and that's coming from a Chelsea fan of nearly 25 years.

Torres is only at Liverpool because of Benitez.Given how far they got in the champions league its hard to fathom out why he would move

Spain to make the quarterfinals of 2010.After that it really depends on who they draw.
