I do believe there's something out there.
For no reason, on a whim, I saw I psychic woman- we didn't know each other from Adam.
She read me like a book! It wasn't through body language or mannerism either. I was not to interrupt, as that would undermine the process if I gave her hints.
It was pretty incredible, and damn specific!!
Weird.

Darren Brown also does this and says he has no gifts whatsoever. He says it's all just training and reading peoples faces. Muscle twitches and pupil dilation etc are all things a trained reader can pick up on which direct them on the right path.
He says anyone can do it, given the right training.

Perhaps.
I think the whole experience was about taking out of it what you want. However, intuition is a powerful thing- not many people can listen to their 'first thought' or 'inner voice'.
Apparently, there are three aspects to our mind:
1. The conscious; responds to the here and now, relaying info to the 2. subsoncious, which contains the 'operating software' that makes us who we are. There is meant to be a universal 3. 'superconscious' that connects us all. Examplse of superconscious functioning are doing the right thing at the right time, chance encounters, as if being guided.

That may be so, but at least he doesn't claim to have supernatural powers, andd talks with the dead like that tosser Colin Fry.
I'd love to set fire to that cunt and watch him scream. Him & Derek Acorah.

Not at all Fudgey. Well put.
Isn't consciousness just the trilogy of awareness, understanding and memory? The subconsciousness is just memory and understanding that isn't at the forefront of your present consciousness.
For instance, you could drive along a familiar route, and think of a favourite holiday you had as a kid at the same time. Are you consciously thinking of your holiday, while subconsciously driving, or vice-versa?
I think there is just a consciousness that can handle lots of things at once, but in varying degrees, which it orders in levels of importance at any one time. You could call the different phases of consciousness the subconscious, but that seems to imply a different mind state....or an inner you within you.
As for connected minds: I think there's no such thing. We are experts at predetermining other peoples behaviour and thoughts because we're a highly sociable animal, and people who cannot do this (autistics) are at a distinct advantage within a group. It was once thought that because the brain gave off electrical pulses, that these brain waves could be picked up by other brains, but now we know that not all thought is just neurons firing off electrical pulses, but also lots of chemical reactions, then 'thought' cannot be accurately transferred from one brain to another through the air (unless of course, you include speech!).
If you think a chance meeting is guidance from a supreme creator, then you have to ask how a frustrated, angry Muslim has that chance encounter with a mad Islamic cleric who encourages the guy to blow up a plane with 200 innocent passengers on board. Was that chance meeting guided? I bet there are plenty of Muslims who believe just that, and it only reinforces their belief that God is on their side.
No; chance meetings -good or bad- are just that - chance.
