It's a Sunday in 1985, and the constant bashing of the rain on the window doesn't seem to be fading. I cling to my size 5 football staring out at the dark skies. Half the leather on the ball is missing and the stitching's starting to come undone, with the bright orange innertube trying it's best to peep out into the big wide world. I love this ball, even if it bounces funny............

I'm bored and my constant whining about being trapped inside seems to have caused a fuss between the adults in the kitchen. Maybe we're going out somewhere?!

My nan shuffles in through the door and tells me to sit on the sofa. I'm excited but a little confused. She doesn't have a video recorder, and there's nothing on tv on Sundays.

She switches on the old tv which takes an age to 'warm up'.

And then....................................horror takes it's icy grip...........
