Hi Sam.
I know you were responding directly to New Blue there, but my general point was that the thread has degenerated into an almost-childish tit-for-tat mess, where (that wanker Raj apart) egos and 'I'm right you're not, so there! nah-nah-nah' attitudes have superseded the subject of the post itself.
The worst thing we could have done, Terry aside, was acknowledge Raj. He's flamed the thread, and now it is an inferno of shite. The mods aren't daft, he was on a one-way ticket out of here.
Another thread, about the current state of Britain a few months back, was shut down for similar reasons- forumites literally 'lost the thread'. You see, as Terry alluded, there are too many 'Keyboard Crusaders' and 'Armchair Politicians' who, in the comfort of their houses and with the anonymity of posting who talk a great game. Get out there and join a political party and make a difference to those of you who think you can make a change. This half-witted Internet 'shouting the loudest' is all crap.
I'm sorry, Sam, but in both threads, there was a regular poster, who whilst trying to make good points, seemed to open his mouth and let his belly rumble
which added fuel to a flamer's fire. You are entitled to your views, but you were heavily in the mix in both threads. Do you REALLY know it all? Or are you a bit younger than the average forumite who is puppy-keen to show his 'intellect'?
Now, after choice comments highlighted by New Blue, Dibble etc, to endear yourself to the forum again............. The BGAFD forum awards. Aaaaaaw. Nice. !wink!
I'll probably regret typing the above, an apology may follow, I might get booted out, who knows?
Just don't do that "cut and paste a quote" from another post then reply which Dibble patented a while back. It's very smart-arsed.
Caractacus, one of the most informed, tactful and objective posters here in addition to myself, in wishing everyone a Happy New Year, asked for a bit more thought and decorum from forumites, as the general atmos is a bit crap. What a start to 2007.
!furious!

Not been the Forums finest hour has it. Time to let it go.

Some fair points I guess. I wasn't the only one who replied to Raj though, and to be fair, I never insulted him back.
As for the quotes & replies. I didn't know anything was patented, and anyway, I usually use tagged quotes. Sorry they seem too 'smart arsed' for you fudge. I never gave my quoting a second thought till now. Been doing it for over 12 months..... I just like my postings to be easy to read, and make clear which points of a post I'm replying to. I can't see your problem.
As for endearing myself with an 'awards thread'. Again, I never saw it as that. I was bored, and thought it would lighten up the forum after this thread. You know, a bit of fun? Wasn't trying to endear myself to anybody........never have. You assume to much.
P.s This thread had finished....until 20:32 today !doh!
Shall we just let it slide away and forget it?
Still don't know why you don't like my quotes though, I think they look nice !wink!
Yes, fair enough.
Pity the thread hadn't been locked and shut down by the mods by half-eight, my 20:32 rant was a product of being genuinely annoyed with the way things are going- it's not great visiting here at times. I usually bite my lip (or scald my fingertips in this case, typing). !confused!
Let's just let it go. !thumbsup!
I shouldn't have posted, and do humbly apologise. Even if i did mean patent as a bit of vernacular. !wink!
A wee bit of justification:
Do as you see fit with your quoting, Sam- I'm not here to dictate! !adolf! Whilst aesthetically pleasing, it's merely an opinion of mine that it looks very 'nit-picking'! When enjoying a bit of banter or a debate in real life, I don't 'quote/unquote' what others have said!! (even though there are eejits that do the 'quote' actions with their fingers, but you're not one of them, I'm sure!). It's your call, i have no qualm.
I think it's quite clear I was genuinely pissed off. !swear!
However, my only interest here resides with the Fantasy Football. So with that, I ask the mods to close the thread and cancel my registration- I will fall on my 'rights-to-posting' sword and read from afar! Fudgey is no more (where did i get that name from anyway?? !wink!). !happy!
All the best to you I've bantered with- lots of good peeps here. No offence or hard feelings, Sam. Jacques, Carac, Jock- it's been a pleasure. !drink!
seeya all.

No problem fudgeflaps.
At least you stated your annoyance without resorting to name calling, and you made some valid points.
I still like my quotes though !laugh! I honestly use them mainly when I want to answer long posts that have many points, and it stops me getting confused with which questions I've answered, and which I've forgotten!
I wouldn't stop posting though just because of this thread, or other posts that bother you. It's only an internet forum after all, and I'm sure most arguments that arise are due to being unable to express your views in their proper context, which easily comes across 'face to face'. Things always seem worse/more serious when written down.
Your a good forumite from what I can gather, so it would be a loss to this forum if you went. Don't let people like Raj, or my 'rising to the bait', push you away. Please reconsider your withdrawal.
All the best,
Sam.

Hey! Thats not nice. I do derive a lot of enjoyment from most of Spikes movies and dont think he is the racist some would believe but he does handle some argument inducing stuff and he can be quite a resilient bugger in his opinions.
Actually his best movies are the rabble rousing ones like Jungle Fever and Do The Right Thing. I certainly wouldnt kick the shit out of him.
I would most likely back him up. The odds are against him and I usually champion the underdog in a situation like this. If its you and him one on one then I'll hang back with my popcorn.
