Re: *INDUSTRY TESTING & DATABASE DISCUSSION*

I feel as if Im going over all ground that wa salready explained within this very same thread as to what is/ was going on.

UKAP and many more non members like Harmony, Relish (even Killergram) and a dozen more (including Blue Bird) were in support of this as I have been in contact with all of them.

Keni did his bit to reach out to the model community and the reason why it has not progressed forward from its December 5th meeting is simply because the clinics did not see enough support to make it worth their while investing their time and effort in making it happen. Just because a certain company offered to front the money but were not available to back this up by appearing on the day is not enough to make it happen.

an open invitation was put out to the industry to attend (which caused me a great deal of flack within UKAP) because I felt this decision had to be endorsed by the very people who were in the front line to use it.

In order to understand what is going on one must read what is going on and Ive informed people every step of the way at the risk of pissing off civilian posters of this forum by coming on here with it to get the attention of the silent majority who anonymously come on here.

As you might have known Keni has lost steam on this subject as well now after his efforts have largely amounted to nothing.

The clinics ar einterested still but we have to show and prove now. the goal post have been moved and th eonly way this will move forward by showing its support by paying for it now. UKAP was merely the conduit to make this happen as the clinics that were behind making this happen had no idea how to get so many people in one place.

i would have said AITA would have been their first port of call but it seems they have the interests of their retailers at heart over an industry health issue they may consider solely in the realm of those producing the content (why should the retailers care if performers live or die eh?) hence why i even went out further to get one government advisor on health and safety and TVX sent another lawyer who represented the clinics....Given some of the comments I have heard for this schemes failure to launch no tone person has accounted for the fact that people just didnt bother turn up and would rather listen tohear say from people on the periphery of the business than listen to their peers that are in actually in it.

To quote one statement: "well a lot of people are saying a lot of negative things about UKAP" When asked who Im like "Who are they? they'r enot even in the business"

The clinics have suggested we producers are the paymasters and that we should be setting the standards but then I (we) explained the business doesnt run like that.

Who really has the power to make this compulsory in the business?

The answer is all of you. producers and performers. this scheme has been met with derision and contempt in th eminority when it should have been embraced by all whether UKAP was in the driving seat or not.

Maybe it failed because of peoples apathy and distrust of UKAP. Thats fine. Maybe models should set themselves up an association and deal with it themselves.

Like several other projects I have only responded to demand and this is the outcome.

My apologies for harping on about this but all the answers were there in the audio recording.

Myson. I agree but Ihave other things to persue right now. Ive put my time in. This is the second time this has fallen flat on its face as others before me tried to persue it and met with a similar but less public fate.

There are other htings in motion right now behind the scenes (not involving UKAP) but whether it will get off the ground is another matter.

After all how can this standard be implemented if the industry at large know nothing about it?

For better or worse I brought it to the porn collectives consciousness. Anyone want to step up and get this in place? Before its too late when it wil make not a jot of difference in the even to of an impending calamity.

Like any dramatic scenario, its coming. Its just a matter of when and involving whom.

Has anyone noticed of late why a lot of models are quitting the business?
STDs are the main cause for concern and frustration and more outbreaks have been happening in recent years because of all the risky behaviour going on.

The new ones coming in have no real clue and therefore susceptible to a lapse in standards, hence the reliance on free NHS tests.

Its gonna get worse.

Me & John have our tests done every 8 weeks at Clacton Hospital (no fee's) & they advise this because most serious viruses e.g. HIV & HEP C take this time to incubate. Before you all fall over backwards with shock we rarely work with the Pro circuit & when we do its always with condoms, we are also working with the people at the GUM clinic to hand out leaflets, free condoms etc to other amateurs girls, swingers & escorts & explain to them testing is free & as long as you are honest with what you do they can help.

We advise everybody to have HEP B jabs because if they don't say they are in the industry or swingers the doctors won't give them these & they are free, we ourselves & all the people we deal with use condoms which gives us some peace of mind & makes us wary of those who don't. Because of this the amateurs make notes themselves on high risk people so we can swap notes & give these a wide berth.
A data base is a great idea but keep it to the Pro industry as there are 1000's of amateurs & to get these to give their details when they might only do this now & again would be a risk & impossible.

The doctors at our hospital have also stressed to us about certain drugs e.g. antibiotics & steriods etc that can mask tests showing no signs of infections, for example if a person has a chest infection & is on antibiotics you have to wait 2-3 weeks before the hospital will test you where as a private clinic will test you regardless of the perils because they lose money.

Do Private clinics give this advice to their customers & if they do are some people getting tested anyway knowing their tests could be masked. As i said this is a great idea but to get it right is going to be a hard job to apply to some & not others & to make it work Pro stars / producers should make it an unwritten rule to only work with people on the data base, face it you guys are already taking a great risk doing this without condoms so this could be the best thing thats happened to the industry in ages.

Interesting that you brought that up Kim (the part about working wth others on the database). I think this met with serious conflict because there are so many people crossing over into diferent aspects of the business that some felt it necessary to sabotage the idea. especially those who work with a mix of pro and amateurs...(I know the people who voted against it on UKAP before the admin cottoned on and changed it) and it made me seriously wonder what their intentions were for being against something that is essential to the business.

Like I said, if the business really deemed it important, it would be in place right now.

We will just have to wait until there is an HIV or some other serious outbreak to effectively see this through but I dread to think how long a lock down on productions will last and people will have to consider other work.

All this just because of people not wanting to pay for it. Well free will come to an end and if something serious does go down then people outside of this business will step in and regulate it for us unless we come together and do it for ourselves.

Who knows? There may come a day when we all have to be licensed to shoot porn. Why not? The tentacles of control are creeping in already. Look at the BBFC Online scheme for starters. Ofcom not allowing hardcore on tv.

Terry.

It was me who pointed out that on the vote on UKAP's site, names of voters were visible.

When I mentioned that on a posting , it was changed.

I voted against the scheme and explained why I did so

I hope you are not making claims that I have something against a PROPER scheme being put in place. I suggest you read my previous postings about this.

Notice i didnt name names James Not Bond as I didnt feel I need to. The minority against didnt make any impact. I wasnt accusing you of anything per se. Plus I gave answers to your concerns regards this matter as well.

The point Im trying to make is that even with over 90% support in favour it didnt get off the ground.

Hi JoJo..you are probably right but the question is here and also on UKAPs forum but I suspect no one can be bothered to click the links becaus this and sundry was answered there.

No doubt someone wil think we should do this in 6 months before someone posts a link reminding this has been done before. LOL

Besides not everyone is on the UKAP forum but feel free to come over an discuss if you like.

Its be worthwhile signing up there as well since there are 20 producers registered if you are looking for work and want to know whats going down in the UK biz or you could sign up with facebook and myspace as well.
