I think it's a great idea, - less chance of forged certs,

But i don't think just blood & urine tests are good enough .........

my clinic Conifer house examine me, take blood & swabs from both the throat & cervix, and they always ask me if im doing anal as they would then take anal swabs too.

yes i realise urine tests are just as good as cervix/penis swabs but i do think everyone should have there bits examined and everyone male & female doing unprotected oral should have to have a throat swab and anyone receiving anal should also have a anal swab.

So yes im all for it but think testing needs to be upgrading so everyone has everything tested.

Bit surprised to see this topic return.

How does this reduce the chance of forged certs?

A forger can just upload a duff certificate and since all information at a clinic is confidential under the Doctor / Patient Covenant, there is no way to provide validity.

Further more, the online database would not include sexual activity, both professional and private. All STIs take a few days to show their symptons so you could get tested on Monday, do a shot on Thursday have a clean cert by Friday but have an STI by Sunday.

We are assuming everyone in the adult industry can upload a certificate to an online database via either a scanner or a photograph. I doubt this is the case given most models get other people to do their websites.

If a model can't be bothered to remember their passport and certs, they should not expect to be paid for the shoot. Perhaps at 9.00am, a producer should call a model to double check they have their certs.

This is of course treating someone a bit like a child but if it's the only way a producer can reduce the risk of hiring a studio and crew for nothing, a few minutes call will cancel out this lost costs.

Also, perhaps a method of ranking model reliability (male and female) would be more useful then people can work out who is professional and who's not.

For the time being, I will check if a person has a valid cert and bring mine along since this method still seems to work.

Just some thoughts.

I really cant believe how many of you are against change!
Oh i forgot!!!!!
Some people just dont give a fuck about their health!!!!!
Well i do!
There has been some real scares in the past & im sure, actually im positive there will be many more unless somthing is done about it!
If certain problems can be avoided, why the hell isnt everyone in this industry pushing to help do somthing about it!
To those that really care about their health & this industry!
Your help is needed to get this sorted!
Count me in!

HArry, Clinic Express has said they will upload to their website (obviously the patient must agree to this), therefore there is no room for forgery in that.

I've been filming in US now for over a year, not once has my test come back dirty...

I don't even think twice about my results anymore...

Why people in UK are against all getting tested at a central location is crazy, sorry shall i rephrase that all the people that are faking their tests are against it...

Like Sensi, Keni and co said its your health at the end of the day, whats it going take in the UK to wise up....A HIV Scare or something???

This is 50/50 idea as yes you would have all pro preformers logged but 1000's of amateur preformers wouldn't be. We work with normal couples who happen to be swingers so these people don't get certs, lots of producers use housewives in their films & again if its a one off thing for them no way are they going to get a cert.
We use & have always used condoms as certs even though we have these ourselves are not to be always trusted & we value our lives to much to do this bareback & its a myth that condoms spoil films anyway.
It could cause a divide between Pro & Am which will cripple a lot of companies as their are a few hundred Pro stars & 1000's of Am, producers will think of their pockets first when it comes to how much they can spend so performers need to get together on this one as it is their details that will be displayed for the world to see.
We work with our local GUM clinic helping them with esorts, swingers & sometimes handing out leaflets in Clacton, Colchester & ipswich to clubbers so we do take health serious but this just seems intrusive & impossible to set up.

Hi

Its interesting that nobody is really commenting on requireing a consistant & meaningful level of testing & documentation.

Yes online would be good as fake certs are indeed an issue BUT surely a MEANINGFUL cert is vital ?

I am tested everry 30 days regardless if I do BG in between and the amount of girls that turn up with in my opinion certs that dont really tell me anything is supprising eg giving a overall negative result but not stating which body parts where tested. If the testing clinic only tests the Genitals you can still have an infection in the mouth or bum!! So what does their negative result mean? In my opinion nothing.

As say again, a BIG YES to getting a system that limits fake certs but a meaningful Cert is just if not more important SURLEY??

Sounds a good idea to me, especially as i heard about a so called producer who did a shoot with an escort/model by the coast and didnt see the girls certs, yet hes still booking/shooting

Cenobitz,

I use an NHS clinic every 28 days which is run at a leading UK hospitaland I've mentioned this idea to the pracitioner nurses. They have said it would be very difficult for them to upload certificates as it breaches their confidentially agreements they have under law and if I were to state I was tested their, they would be unable to confirm or deny this under the Data Protection Act.

Change is good but if part of the reason for this change is to have reputable certificates, everyone will have to get their tests done at the same place.

It's probably easier in America since the majority of the porn industry takes place in L.A. so testing can be undertaken by a central clinic. However in the UK, people will want to get tested in the local NHS or private clinic.

Will all UK clinic sign up to such a proposal or be allowed to sign up to such a venture.

Finally, and this is me being cynical, what will prevent a clinic registering then providing clean certificates for an additional fee?

Also, as I said earlier, will the online process also monitor all sexual activity to indicate the incubation period between last sexual encounter and last test results?

Just some thoughts.
