Boring?.The Italians are the masters of defending.if you have ever watched Serie A,you would realise that.

Italy done what no nation in Euro 2008 managed to do,stop Spain from scoring.Though,Spain should of at least had 2 penalties in normal time.

Nevermind.COME ON RUSSIA!!!.

its sad its coming to a close, its not been a bad tournament really. i want russia to win it and i think they might. in fairness spain tanked them 4-1 in the first game but i still think the russians played well and arshavin is back in the squad so maybe its possible... guss hiddink is a smart enough manager not to make the same mistake twice. they will have a strategy and if russia play like they did against holland then maybe spain are in trouble....

I'd rather see Arshavin than Deco in Chelsea colours next season, that's for sure.

turkeys luck had to run out eventually and sometimes when you play well that happens. i think the sign of a good team is to play badly and still win and germany seem to have that down to an art. i think they will now meet russia in the finals and russia may very well just win the thing. as i have said before hiddink will not let them go down to spain in the first game and with arshavin and pavlyuchenko on form who knows

Yes typical Germany alwas JUST doing enough to get the job done, pretty much like the Italians who unfortunately chose the wrong June 22nd to take Spain on at penalties ... ouch. Just goes to show that all the teams that have played the brilliant attacking flowing football in the group stages are all tucked up in their holiday villas now.

turkey had really made this tournament....its a real shame we wont see them in the finals.. i think they proved they were not just lucky in thier games. they managed to make the germans look average.

No team can defend the set piece so its little wonder Germany are where they are.

Even fewer have a reliable striker who scores consistently and can turn the plethora of chances on offer into goals

Russia might be the only one that does on the striking front

Cant see Spain beating both Russia & Germany

The Germans' win had an air of sickening inevitability about it.

The bastards to it time and again: Play crap against (on paper) inferior opposition, yet still manage to steal it.

They've been decidedly average the whole tournament (with the possible exception of the Portugal game, which I missed because I was travelling that night) and yet here they are again in yet another final.

I still say that their record over the years flatters them greatly and that they're the luckiest team of all time. I mean - four tournament final appearances on the back of penalty shootouts ('82 / '86 / '90 / '96) and one blatant match fix that FIFA lacked the balls to do anything about ('82).

But the worst thing about it is their sheer arrogance (which Martin O'Neil touched on last night), epitomised in BILD-Zeitung at the start of the tournament, with a photoshopped picture of Ballack on the front page holding the trophy in his arms and the headline (translated): "To the Opposition - This is ours. You can look, but don't touch. This is for us".

Cunts.
