LEXI LOWE: The UKAP awards have the potential to become a real accolade for the performers and companies who receive them, but as they stand currently they are widely perceived as a non-event which can be proved year after year by the lack of winners present to collect their awards in person.

To further add, we also understand the adult business dosnt stop on event days, especially when a lot of girls work on webcam shows and TV channels. Work is likely to be the reason for their absence and the cost of travelling and hotel if they are coming into London is a factor too.

Whingers and whiners for God's sake, it is entertainment, showbiz, fun, enjoyment.
This business is suppose to be about the ultimate human pleasure, sex! We have packaged it as a product for others to experience. If awards cannot be a bit of fun then work in or, sell insurance and you can complain about the use of Meerkats and nodding Bulldogs! Get a life, this business has been decimated, wake up and smell the coffee. When has any award winner in the UK seen their purse or wallet bulge due to the awards?
This is the reality about our business:-

Poor old ?one eyed jack? is between a rock and a hard place, he is the glue keeping UKAP together, a thankless task from what I have seen to date.
If you Guys have all the answers set up your own bloody awards, you remind me of the Hugh Fearnley-Witingstall Stanley always complaining about Tesco yet shops a Waitrose. :-)
You can rest assured the Iconic crew, starlets and myself will be at next years awards to have some fun!

Thanks Oscar. Its nice to see someone come out and back me up for a change. I couldve cried when at XBiz the members of UKAP put their hands up and Scott said: "Dont forget us Terry. We're members"

I do take a kicking and some tell me I deserve it for rising to it but when people ask questions I cant ignore them. As you know Oscar, we try to do the right thing as you have seen for yourself so I truly appreciate your support

Its important we keep a line of communication open with anyone who asks questions. For better or worse , that in itself makes us relevant

If we werent taken seriously people wouldnt waste time talking about us or be included with XBiz & Sex & Censorship.

Instead of fighting among ouselves about awards why not jump on board and come in for the big win! This is as much your business as it is ours.

Unless you know someone else or organisation doing a better job then let us know and we'll back them up too

Getting back on topic

If XBiz and JT can attend our party then we dont see why those why dont take us seriously cant do the same.

In the past we've had LA Direct and Nikki Jayne too among many others attend so I dont understand when you say we ...."are widely perceived as a non-event which can be proved year after year by the lack of winners present to collect their awards"...

Who was there to greet Shy Love (ATMLA founder) and Dr Sixto in the absence of all else on model health testing?

Who was out there in the front lines defending the porn business against anti feminists on Stop Porn Culture?

Who informs the business in the midst of misinformation?

If we werent taken seriously we wouldnt have friends like Myles Jackman (@ObscenityLawyer) or Nichi Hodgson author, media journo and Ethical Porn partnerhip founder.

When I'm not the best man to address an issue explaining legal position/ advice then we have the ear of someone who does

What do we have to do for models to take us seriously?

Lexi Lowe, Alyssa Devine, Brooklyn Blue, Sienna Day, Victoria Summers, Paige Delight and Yuffie Yulan should have been considered and I would have nominated the first three.

Last year Emma Leigh, Carla Mai, Ava Koxx and Jaye Rose were among the best performers in my opinion.

Having said that I was happy to see Samantha Bentley & Satine Spark nominated this year.

Just one mans viewpoint however.

All fair points that I can happily explain Denneboom:

Lexi Lowe won Your Choice Best Girl Of The Year for Best Selling DVD: Down On Abby. She wasnt at the party

Brooklyn Blue was invited but didnt show but she was at the previous party last November.

Samantha Bentley was seen on Thursday night at XBiz EU but had work the next day so couldnt come to the party but it seemed she was the girl of 2013 at the last awards

All the others were invited and some were even on the guest list but failed to appear for their own reasons. So all were invited and none were excluded.

I personally asked Sienna Day as I know her from the time I did her first ever shoot. She said she'd come too but failed to show. Some girls just live too far away and its not always convenient for some but its worth the investment to meet new people who would most likely work with someone they met via social circles

Well what can you do if you invite them and they dont turn up ?

Could be because we have 3 different awards organisations.

Who knows ?

I do wish that the industry could be more united as I feel we have great talent but don't produce enough quality content.

Probably because it's so hard for producers to make money ?

In 2015 I will keep an eye out in June or July and see if I can nominate my favorite performer to UKAP

OEJ Thanks for the explaination

I don't think its about the drop in quality of porn to explain the decline in prn

I actually think its the reverse of what people think. Porn is booming! More thanit ever has in history because of how freely available it is now. Webcams , streaming sites, tubes. There is so many outlets for it then its on the social network too.

People are becoming desensitised to it in a fast moving world that wants everything for free and the large part of the market who wouldnt pay for it anyway would get their quick fixes from tube sites

Sweeping new reforms in regulation might clean that up a little but my fear is that the new laws are a smokescreen for more sinister motives, porn and child protection is a back door approach to achieving that.

Maybe I'm a consiracy theorist at heart but I cant help but join the dots with Assange/ Manning, clebrity kiddy fiddling creeping ever more into naming political names and higher and terrorism for why the authorities want to rein the greatest invention of the 20th century in and control it.

Porn going wildly out of control is at the heart of all that

Could be because we have 3 different awards organisations.

Thats just it Denneboom. I do feel the awards this year was the reflection of the demographic that voted for us.

Would the outcome be different if say a whole bunch of web cam fans voted? Its probably because of this why some models who mainly work overseas in Europe and USA got overlooked

Harmony products win every year Ive noticed. I know producers who are wary being in the same category as producers of high calibre

I would encourage more award systems if they could be done fairly. Just one awards system would be boring. The ones already established cater to different facist of the business and Shaftas is an internal vote that doesnt include outsiders and I think thats ok too

Tina Kay, Stella Cox and Top Of The Babes winner Cherry Delainey won their first awards ever and we are proud to recognise that even though it wasnt our personal judgement we'd like to think we are broader or independent in our scope to recognise new talents that are deserving of awards.

I've no idea why we would be criticised to be honest. I reckon fans on the BGAFD could hold their own awards and have a whip around and have their own award system. UKAP recognised that with Top Of The Babes and I do see that weekly poll as an interesting barometer of what girl is popular and why
