If all the pay sites shut down over night, it would make not a jot for all the ffree porn out there already. if you know about ATVOD then it means you arre one of the clued up few in it.

Most people out there have no idea what they are about . Especially new people coming in until they get that letter.

Some very interesting points there OEJ, I am very much against the ATVOD and I agree about the whole "buying without selling" thing. I too would be reluctant to purchase without seeing.

but Arsewithclass has made some very good promo pics and videos which do give a good indication of whats behind the "firewall" as a customer I can see why he would still make good sales.

The whole ATVOD thing seems a little one sided to me. Even with most protection rackets there are advantages to being "protected", it seems ATVOD offers nothing apart from NOT getting closed down/fined. IE there are no perks of being ATVOD registered/ accepted. All stick and no carrot.

Just like any law that I dislike, I'd like to take a stand, but in the meantime I have to abide by it. What sensible steps would you recommend OEJ?

I'm not sure that's true. ATVOD has a concessionary rate for "non-commercial" video on demand which implies you register even if the videos are free.

Yeah it looks like even a site like mine would have to pay ?96, and that's if I'm lucky enough to be considered "public interest". otherwise I get the full fee. For something I don't want...nice.

And OEJ is spot on, their efforts (very little according to the stats on them) will have absolutely zero effect on porn availability for anyone, let alone minors.

I'd still like to know what if anything we can do about the ATVOD, is there a way to take a stand legally without falling foul?

Looks like most porn sites that stand against them fail, even the big ones like StrictlyBroadband.
